Thanks to Welsh surf band Y Niwl for dragging me from Fb over to Soundcloud. As with most people I have likes and dislikes, the musical baggage I carry comes from my teenage musical influences in the 1970s. First the only music I had access to was the cheesy Top of the Pops, sadly stumbling across it during the height of The Osmonds and the Bay City Rollers. Second my parents only listened to Radio 4, but one day one news item changed everything. The world and his wife were up in arms against a single that just been released 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols, I listened and smiled. Third, in those days Radio 1 ended at 7pm and joined humdrum Radio 2 until10-midnight for John Peel. He would play anything and everything. So it is with me now as it was then, there is so much good music out here; I dislike pigeon holes and genres; I want to explore!

Blank Cheque, a 2-piece acoustic band with a difference. We play quite a unique genre with influences from all over the places, so if you can think of a title for the genre we play, do feel free to let us know!

Twin brothers Tom & Josh. Playing gigs together for 2 years now.
Tom - Lead guitar, operator of the loop box, backing vocalist. Tom is influenced by bands and artists from completely different ends of the musical spectrum. From Eric Clapton to George Benson, from the Arctic Monkeys to Ed Sheeran. Tom's been playing guitar now for 9 years and has completed grade 8. 
Josh - Lead vocalist, saxophonist. Josh is heavily influenced by Jazz, blues and funk music, players such as Charlie Parker, Maceo Parker, Michael Brecker and many others. Josh also shares the same influences as Tom. He, like Tom, has completed his final Jazz sax grade. This is what helps make up the sound of Blank Cheque.
