To Armin van Buuren, the sound of music has become a natural high, a sanctuary, and the stimulus in life. With each year of his career passing, his role in electronic dance music has become more important. If anything, he inspires music lovers with his weekly radio show. Based on that show, is the annual compilation series, loved and anticipated by fans, music lovers and dance addicts. So here it is, A State of Trance 2014, mixed and compiled by no one less than Armin van Buuren.

2014 is going to be a year to remember for the Dutch DJ and his fans. Within the course of 6 weeks, he’ll celebrate the 650th episode of the A State of Trance radio show with no less than 9 events in cities all across the globe. Broadcast live, these celebrations reach out to millions of listeners. Next to that, Armin also hosts his ‘Armin Only – Intense’ world tour this year, with more than 20 dates in cities such as New York, Sydney, Johannesburg, Moscow and more. Next to touring the world, Armin also spends a great deal of time on the weekly A State of Trance radio show. Going strong for nearly 13 years, it was and still is one of the driving forces in his career. So is the award-winning A State of Trance compilation series.

A State of Trance 2014 features a great deal of brand new tracks, exclusive productions and remixes, mixed in only the way Armin van Buuren can. Never originally intended for release, Armin’s ‘Ping Pong’ song has grown organically into a life of its own. In a bid to give this fan-favourite something extra Armin has called in a favour from his long-time buddy and fellow countryman, Hardwell.

We remember the day our manager came into our studio aka drew's living room apartment to show us this new band he was going to sign to Disruptor Records. The first record he played us was this tune Overload and we were hooked! We had never heard of them before but we proceeded to listen to 10 more songs of theirs and we were blown away. Their sound was so refreshing from the instruments to their vocals. There was a summertime quality to all their music that couldn't be denied. Flash forward a couple months and we had the chance to meet them in LA. We proceeded to do what any dudes meeting for the first time would do, we through a mansion party at a buddies got totally blackout and missed the call time for what was our Let You Go music video. Flash even more forward and Overload is taking over top40 and they are about to drop their next single Dreams! The boys were cool enough to let us take a shot a remixing overload and putting our touch on it. The song itself is already just so amazing and vibey... its like drinking coconut water on a beach while getting a foot rub and someone somewhere else transferring large sums of money into your bank acct. SO we figured why change that and just change the foot rub to a back massage and money to a kiss from a chick you really are into but didn't know she was also into you.... So without further adieu... our remix of Overload!
