We're very excited to bring you the second instalment of The Sunrise Mixtapes, and our first guest-mix: None other than Mr Phil Mison! 

A chance meeting with José Padilla at London's Milk Bar lead to a two-season DJ residency at the iconic Café Del Mar in Ibiza in the mid nineties. Phil continues to produce and tour the world. A true champion of the Balearic scene, we were thrilled that he said Yes when we reached out to ask if he’d like to contribute to the series, especially seeing as the mix he’s submitted is a very special live recording of a set he did at the Café Del Mar back in August 1994. It’s a simply gorgeous selection of white-Isle classics and oddities, including ‘Mediterranean Dream’ by Shahin & Sepehr, ‘Voodoo Jammin’ by Dancing Fantasy and ‘Yawn Yawn Yawn’ by Sth Notional, just to mention a handful as there are so many great records in this mix - Seminal music from the golden age of chill.

"Avant de commencer, merci à mon très cher ami Timéo de m'avoir proposé de faire un mix autour de la musique House. 
J'y ai pris un plaisir très particulier et la dose de nostalgie était très forte.
J'ai découvert la musique électronique relativement tard dans mon parcours d'écoute musicale, et sans vraiment bien comprendre ce que c'était à ce moment là, c'est la musique House qui m'a cueilli en premier lieu.
Aujourd'hui, je me représente cette mouvance musicale comme un espace de commun, de fête, rassurant, de joie, d'émancipation, et d'expérimentation. 
Quand j'y pense, je vois la musique House comme une grande maison où je me sens bien, sans en connaître encore toutes les pièces.
Autour de 2015, je me baladais mentalement dans des rues de styles musicaux divers quand j'ai croisé au détour de ma déambulation cette maison avec sa porte ouverte. Au début, j'y entrais de temps en temps pour me faire une idée de l'atmosphère intérieure, mais je n'y faisais que quelques pas avant de retourner dans d'autres maisons que je connaissais mieux.
Puis un jour, j'ai décidé d'entrer dans une des pièces de la maison : j'y ai d'abord découvert quelques objets visiblement un peu vieux (un piano un peu usé, quelques machines avec plein de boutons, un joli combiné téléphonique, des chaises et des tapis...) mais aussi et surtout des objets très contemporains. 
Cette pièce, c'était la musique house contemporaine et proche géographiquement de moi, majoritairement européenne, évidemment influencée par les USA et sûrement de nombreuses autres contrées du monde comme je le comprendrai plus tard.
Je suis resté assez longtemps dans cette pièce car je m'y sentais bien, et ce mix m'a permis d'y revenir avec beaucoup de nostalgie. 
Depuis, j'ai exploré de nombreuses autres pièces de cette musique qu'est la House, certaines avec une ambiance de salon jazz (sûrement ma préférée), d'autres plus introspectives, une avec une boule disco, une avec beaucoup de percussions différentes, une plus sombre, une remplie de synthétiseurs...
Dans cette métaphore de la maison que j'affectionne, il y a aussi les couloirs, les antichambres, les pièces qui "font le lien", ainsi que les ouvertures vers l'extérieur, les fenêtres et autres puits de lumière, qui permettent à cette musique de se laisser perturber, habiter, influencer par des faisceaux musicaux différents, que ce soit de jour ou de nuit.
J'aime cette musique parce qu'elle me touche fort, qu'elle évolue beaucoup, que j'ai récemment mieux compris son histoire et ses prémices, et que je viens de découvrir tout récemment qu'il existe une danse éponyme qui, de ce que j'en découvre et ressens, transcende la musique House. 
Alors je crois que je vais y rester encore un peu...

Here we go. The opening set of the first Dr33333ams party by Frinda di Lanco & Hendrik Stein does exactly what it says on the tin. Dreamy, flute-driven melodies melting into hypnotic drum patterns, 90s proto vibes meeting the fluorescent shine of the black light. The dj duo and initiators of the party with a penchant for vinyl records know their genres. Being able to resurrect with a fresh new dance-oriented concept after having just ended a colourful disco party series that used to be a collector's wet dream shows the couple's ability to grow and evolve, setting a focus on the dance floor experience, a raw and passionate moment to undergo. As always staying away from the obvious, Frinda & Hendrik have build their sound on the lesser known edge of progressive house, proto & freestyle house, HiNRG, euro dance, acid and trance. As a rather quiet force in time and space you can witness how the duo has put continuous hard work into musical research and refining their performance. As a result you'll be taken to a unique, honest and well-crafted place where you're allowed to let go, shake it all out and find your true self.

New  mix by paris based Geneva ! 

Latvian-born Eugenie aka @__geneva._ is a DJ and music curator known for her sensual, genre-blending sets that effortlessly combine hypnotic downtempo, leftfield electronica, and progressive house. Formerly a creative director she left the corporate world to fully embrace her deep-rooted passion for music — and has since emerged as a distinctive voice in the European electronic scene.

She's resident at Fauve Radio and co-organizer of a series of curated, offbeat parties in France, where she showcases both local and international talent. Her sound is defined by emotional storytelling, playful irony, and a nostalgic nod to the late 90's and early 2000's — always delivered with a sleek, seductive edge.

This weeks IsBurning mix is from Tommy Hart!
Tommy played an amazing set at BRET...IsBurning during Pride and made sure everybody kept on their those until those early/late hours. 

Tommy based in Mexico City approaches each set as a narrative journey, weaving a seamless flow and through line from the first to the final track. The narritive for this mix is the vibe for the end of summer, kicking off with something cunty and confident, finishing with a smooth transition into autumn. 

It’s a mix to really get you in the mood to dance in a club nearby where the ceilling is low and the energy high.

''I’ve been playing this track to close out many of my sets over the last few months—no matter where the set goes it’s always a nice landing.
