Baz Za’s music was conceived on one fateful night in a sweaty underground cavern, the now legendary Turnmills in London. Dave Seaman delivered a progressive house set that blew him away. Baz had no idea that music could sound like that, it changed what he thought music could be. In that moment he was hooked.

While the inclusive vibe of progressive house club nights is what has drawn him to this emotive & intense style of music, the constant realisation that the music wasn’t going in the direction  Baz wanted it to lit the fire. He had to make music himself.

Fast forward 7 years, and what started out as a hidden obsession has turned into a reality. Years of making music on old obsolete laptops and dirt cheap speakers, hundreds of tunes which just didn’t get near his musical vision, and the sheer force of will has now lead to him carving out his signature sound. Emotive & melodic without losing it’s energetic edge, Baz’s music would fit in any set alongside Edu Imbernon, 16 Bit Lolitas, Solomun and Henry Saiz, deftly blurring the lines between progressive and deep house.

I've written for a whole spectrum of music outlets - from Data Transmission to Inverted Audio, the much loved Ibiza Voice and even contributions to FACT and Fabric. Mainly, this involves listening to sounds, deciding whether I like them or not, and then making words happen about them.

Sometimes the sounds find their way onto mixes (when I have the time between dealing with children and a demanding day job) some of which you can hear on here.

My sounds are myriad. One mix does not sound like the next.
