Joe’s distinctive style and profoundly down to earth nature have seen his rise through the ranks of Manchester’s cutting-edge club scene.

Roche’s move to Manchester saw him knocking on as many musical doors as possible, working at Eastern Bloc, digging for days on end in the city’s finest record stores and learning his craft at after-parties.

The tireless work-ethic coupled with a distinct humility have seen Joe become a stalwart of the scene, playing at critically acclaimed nights and venues including Kompakt, Victoria Warehouse, Gorilla and a truly iconic set at Antwerp Mansion.

""Don't rush to grow up" marks the debut release on @mamatoldya, a new label from Paris-based producer @anethamusic and aimed at exploring the creativity of collaboration.

Sugar and @ABSL join her on the inaugural four-track EP, the latter working with Anetha on 'Et le Soleil ne vint pas' and 'Elles', which works a t.A.T.u. vocal sample through a pulsating techno beat complete with spooky synths and robust percussion.

Manchester's Joe Roche is a unique artist; with his finger on the pulse. Whether at the helm of Do As You Please or sharing the stage with luminaries like Gerd Janson, Yousef or Mall Grab, this producer, DJ, and label-head continues to absorb and refine the eclectic influences of his ongoing musical journey.

The breakout year of 2023 saw Roche ascending to new heights, supporting Fatboy Slim at O2 Victoria Warehouse, gaining altitude at Snowbombing, whilst solidifying and increasing his following with residencies at Joshua Brooks, Eastern Bloc and Ramona - where he opened for the likes of Danny Howard, Dimitri From Paris, and Lauren Lo Sung. Beyond his DJ prowess, Joe has also crafted an impressive discography, earning accolades from electronic music enthusiasts for his tireless output and no-nonsense approach to production.

Roche took his first steps as a DJ in Manchester in 2014 cutting his teeth, and honing his skills in some of the city’s legendary record stores. Joe's talent saw him rapidly progress to 	appearances alongside key names, including Kerri Chandler, radio play on BBC Radio 1, and featuring on line-ups at esteemed venues, including the Warehouse Project and Leeds’ Mint Warehouse.
