A better way!

I have written so many songs that focus on the negative aspects of one's life that I thought I should probably try to gradually increase the positivity with each song from now until either I feel I have reached a positive plateau or I get so sick from the sunshine I'm pumping that I have to stop before I literally die a horrendous bloody guts on the ceiling death. I'll pass on that, wouldn't mind seeing the crime scene pics though... SO LET'S ROCK!! GENTLY THOUGH ❤️🤟

A little song I wrote back in September of 2023. Inspired by a beauty, who made me think of the Proverbs 31 woman. She brought this song to life, and pretty neat that her birthstone was a ruby. I even bought her a pair of ruby colored shoes. This song will always be very special. It's amazing how those little moments can hit and unexpectedly ignite a song late at night. I love those moments, cause that's what I strive to always remember. She took that picture of me on the Steinway. I hope you enjoy this live recording I did very late last night. A Visit to The Stream

Yesterday when we were walking with our little Grand son
we walked to the little stream that is near his home
it’s a reminder of how we must behave
it’s all the beauty that we saw when the steaming water had catched our souls

We discussed a lot of things that is important these days
the boy is nearly two years old but he is so bright
and he could listen to all problems the world has
and he could give me a suggestion how to solve all the problems in the world

We discussed the administration of Trump’s U S A
it seems to be a mess and the world doesn’t know
what new descitions this man has found out
and how to turn the boss in Russia to a warm and kind gentleman

It was amazing to see when the boy walked behind
his Grandmother like a duckling over logs and stones
and every time when he fell to the ground
he just laughed and he shouted with joy over this little mishap

Ett besök vid bäcken

Igår när jag promenerade med min lilla barnbarn
gick vi till den lilla bäcken som är nära hans hem
det är en påminnelse om hur vi måste bete oss
det är allt det vackra vi såg när det strömmande vattnet hade fångat våra själar

Vi diskuterade många saker som är viktiga nuförtiden
pojken är nästan två år gammal men han är så klok
och han kunde lyssna på alla problem som världen har
och han kunde ge mig ett förslag på hur man löser alla problem i världen

Vi diskuterade administrationen i Trumps U S A
det verkar vara en enda röra och världen vet inte
vilka nya beslut den här mannen har hittat på
och hur man gör chefen i Ryssland till en varm och snäll gentleman

Det var fantastiskt att se när pojken gick bakom
hans mormor som en ankunge över stock och sten
och varje gång när han föll till marken 
skrattade han bara och han skrek av glädje över detta lilla missöde

Only Love (sight like december)

Hey…. Thanks for dropping by. April 21st, fresh snow on the ground that hopefully will melt off by the end of the day. Yesterday, I was out transplanting some small Lupine and Columbine plants from out of the lawn. They grew there from seed that spilt from nearby flowerbeds. I put them into a rock garden I recently refurbished. I pulled all the rocks out, dug down to get all the invasive grass roots out, and rebuilt it with a few extra rocks. After that chore, I dug up several Spruce seedlings from the Spruce trees I planted here decades ago. Those little saplings grew up under a lilac bush, so I moved them out into open areas in the backyard. They probably won’t get to be 3 feet tall by the time I pass from this mortal coil, as I am old, but I plant them anyway b/c they’ll most likely still be here when I am gone. Ha. I have been transplanting a lot of volunteer flower plants into my neighbor’s yard, from my vegetable garden in preparation for Spring planting. They find their way into the garden, by wind, bird or however, and I just let them grow, but soon there’s more flowers than vegetables, so I find them new homes. Lastly, I replaced the wonky wheel and axle assembly on my old wheelbarrow, held together by hose clamps, during a snowy day last week, with a wheel from a wheelbarrow I recently got from a pile of free stuff (junk) out on the road, that a neighbor was tossing out. The barrow was cracked, but the wheel/axle were fine. Now I am ready to roll. That is how Spring is here in the mountains…. So several years back, there was quite a large pack of dogs that would freely run around our rural neighborhood. They lived here and loved being able to roam. When I first saw them on my way to the mailbox, they did not know me, and several dogs growled at me. (Rightly so.) Ha. It was a standoff moment for sure. So I just laughed at them. They were not anticipating that. So from then on, we’d have some fun whenever I saw them. Most of those dogs have died over the years. It was sad to see them go. So I included them in this song. I’ve written a few songs over the years and now that I’m retired and have all the time in the world, I’m dusting them off and recording them… For posterity if nothing else. I’m also writing some new ones. It’s a lot of fun! 

Now, a little about me… I’m a recovering alcoholic with over 36 years of continuous sobriety. I’m also a former pastor, retired now after 25 years. Five years ago, I lost the love of my life to ovarian cancer, so that also makes me a widower. And oh yes… i’ve been blind for over 36 years! in spite of all that, exciting adventures, new experiences and love continue to fill my life with joy!
