Thought I'd upload a snippet of what I'm working on. This version took me two takes, one for the ragtime and one for the pre-cursor.

I think this was inspired by a general sentiment directed toward Primus. Although the hellish distortion of... pretty much everything... is kind of overkill, I kind of enjoy it at the same time.

Mystical half-time groove

I manually program every single note. I am inspired by The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. And Lord of the Rings. And a bucketload of other stuff, too. My oldest-most-potent influence (a joint maximum, or hypermaximum—not sure if there's a technical term for that...yet) among living composers of a similar genre and bent would have to be Pete Townshend of The Who. My mom would play The Who in the car for me all the time when I was in elementary school, and I grew up loving their music: transported and inspired by its many textures, moods, and energetic confluxes.
