bio:
born and raised in New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, swampy landscapes & a vibrant nightlife, enabled her to be the artist she is today. Being constantly exposed to music since the very beginning thanks to her Mexican upbringing, she was inspired immensely to dig deeply to discover different genres, including techno. With both brothers as musicians, Idalia tapped into her own creativity with collecting vinyl and finding her own path. Idalia is determined to make a name for southern techno by luring those into the faster, groovier side of techno. While staying aggressively on course with this goal, it has led to gaining attention and headlining events in Brooklyn hosted by TechnoFist founder Damon Bradley and being invited to play at Trax Only’s Bouffant Bouffant infamous queer party Gimme A Reason in New Orleans.

Her performances are demanding while taking her crowd on a journey of hypnotic, hard dance techno with tasteful blends of early trance and acid, she can leave a dance floor constantly moving and enchanted. Being a complete trailblazer and reintroducing her city to the styles and tempo she loves most, Idalia is a pioneer of New Orleans in techno, now hoping to make Detroit her home, to mix the new with going back to basics.

couldn't tell myself what style this is... created that piece based on the stormwind-theme from WoW some years ago... mixing epic choir and prog-trance... seemed like a nice idea back then^^

A quick 1.5 hour mix where i leave my Techno addiction on the side for now and go back to the basics with some of my favorite hypnotic minimal tracks of the past decade. This mix is a salute to those blips, bleeps and bops that I miss and love so much, found in a time where Techno still wasn't that mainstream yet and most tracks in the genre focused on simplicity and minimalism to get the sound desired. I used djay Pro 5.0 to mix this and I think the new track stem separation, stem FX, and loops in djay has massively improved in 5.0 and the end result I got in Minimobunny are simply out of this world. Using this upgraded version of stem separation gives you much better accuracy and the separation is truly studio quality. With good taste and skill, I have tried my best to make this 2-deck mix session sound like an all out improvised live performance. But at the end of the day, you are the judge and I would really appreciate it if you would leave a comment if you enjoy Minimobunny.

joeyq is a seasoned Lebanese DJ and music producer who grew up in Dubai. His passion for creating unforgettable experiences on the dance floor began as early as high school parties. Originally rooted in hip-hop music and culture, joeyq’s journey into electronic music started with house as his entry point. After eight years of DJing, he fully embraced dark, hypnotic Minimal Techno, a genre that now defines his sound.

His most notable DJ appearances include Peppermint Club (DXB), The Basement (BEY), and Forestronika (BEY).

joeyq has released music on labels such as Terminal M Records, Oxytech Limited, Alula Tunes, Proton, and Milky Records. His tracks and EPs have been played and supported by industry heavyweights including Boris Brejcha, Lampé, Monococ, Carbon, and Christian Craken.

If you’re into gnarly bass lines and glitchy-sweet Minimal Techno that’s dark, spooky, and laced with a heavy twist of booty-shakin’ perversion, do yourself a favor and hit play.
