"Gangnam Style" (Korean: 강남스타일, IPA: [kaŋ.nam sɯ.tʰa.il]) is the 18th K-pop single by the South Korean musician Psy. The song was released on July 15, 2012, as the lead single of his sixth studio album Psy 6 (Six Rules), Part 1, and debuted at number one on South Korea's Gaon Chart. On December 21, 2012, "Gangnam Style" became the first YouTube video to reach one billion views. The song's music video has been viewed over 2.77 billion times on YouTube, and has been YouTube's most watched video since November 24, 2012, when it surpassed the music video for "Baby" by Justin Bieber.

The phrase "Gangnam Style" is a Korean neologism that refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam District of Seoul. The song and its accompanying music video went viral in August 2012 and have influenced popular culture worldwide since then. "Gangnam Style" received mixed to positive reviews, with praise going to its catchy beat and Psy's amusing dance moves (which themselves have become a phenomenon) in the music video and during live performances in various locations around the world. In September 2012, "Gangnam Style" was recognized by Guinness World Records as the most "liked" video on YouTube. It subsequently won Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards held later that year. It became a source of parodies and reaction videos by many different individuals, groups and organizations.

By the end of 2012, the song had topped the music charts of more than 30 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. As the song continued to rapidly gain popularity and ubiquity, its signature dance moves were attempted by many notable political leaders such as the British Prime Minister David Cameron, U.S. President Barack Obama, and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who hailed it as a "force for world peace". On May 7, 2013, at a bilateral meeting with South Korea's President Park Geun-hye at the White House, U.S. President Barack Obama cited the success of "Gangnam Style" as an example of how people around the world are being "swept up" by the Korean Wave of culture.

Happy National Coming Out Day! Don't ever be afraid of being proud of who you are!

In late September 2015, I created a Soundcloud account under the alias Billy Dib. At the time, I had no intentions of uploading anything to Soundcloud and just wanted to be able to like tracks and create playlists.

Then, on the 29th, I uploaded a 10-second recording of my friends singing some stupid tune, however, my first proper upload wasn't up until two months later. It was a short, out of sync and overall badly produced meme that I made on GarageBand for iOS where I put some loud nigra samples over Chameleon by PNAU. As I expected, it didn't get much attention but I didn't care. Several weeks later, I decided to start making mashups. 

My first few mashups, funnily enough, were made on an iPad Air 2 using free DJing software. These mashups were only getting about 5-10 likes each. Over time, my account started getting more and more attention and that's when I realised that "Billy Dib" was no longer going to cut it. After a few hours of thinking, a friend sent me a photo he found on Imgur.

It was a stock photo of a poster-boy French man holding a baguette with the caption:

"You are a faguette"

That's when I decided to change my name to Le Faguette. Several months passed and my Account was slowly and steadily gaining some attention but things didn't really blow up until August last year with the release of Extreme Meme Mashup. This blew up cataclysmically with cyranek reposting this within a week. 

Since then, you guys have been relentlessly following me and I can not thank you enough for that. I would like to thank my first few followers (Pre Extreme Meme Mashup) as if it weren't for them, I would've probably gotten bored of making mashups and stopped back then. Shoutout to https://soundcloud.com/donutmemes , he has been supporting me from the day I uploaded my first track. I would like to especially thank Truelordkek for his endless support away from soundcloud.
