In light of the passing of the great luminary Gil Scott Heron, I have decided to give this one up to the world.   
This is my take on my favourite track from Gil's final album, I'm New Here( which is available to buy here:  http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Here-Gil-Scott-Heron/dp/B002ZBT84G )
I made this rework as a companion to the original - which for me evoked classic blues, New Orleans flavours, voodoo and mortality.
A few shady characters have this track on their hard drives already, and I've been playing it out to great acclaim. 
I've made it available for download as a WAV so play with respect and love.

Flight is joined by Droned to make up the first release from the vinyl-only Modern Artifacts edits label.

In a market which is flooded with re-edits, these tracks stand out as complete and full reworks of the original tracks.

Flight is a rare orchestral disco track - with a feeling of an epic movie-soundtrack - from Martyn Ford, again given the Afrikanz On Marz treatment.

Droned & Flight will be released on limited edition 12" vinyl on 13th September 2010

Now for those heads who might think 'what's this version of The Whos leftfield disco classic?' take a deep breath.  Ashley dubs out and extends a private pressing cut from a unknown London band, which was recorded back in the early eighties. A fine compliment to the A-side. Keep on tripping!

Amsterdam dwelling editor par excellence Em Vee took the solo reigns on the inaugural Lumberjacks In Hell - and truly excelled with a great reimagination of "Miss You". The second release on the label sees the German share duties with Spanish edit demon Rayko, with the Rare Wiri boss hogging the A Side. First up is an expert rearrangement of Candi Staton's cover of the Bee Gee's standard "Nights On Broadway" which strips the track of its orchestral leanings to focus on the groove! Following this is a meaty take on a classic, with Barbara Keith's cover of "All Along The Watchtower" reinforced with some bottom end bump. Em Vee spreads a special disco version of Alma Lee's late 70s Philly delight "Gimme Your Love" with an extended intro that fully displays his edit talents.
