In the summer of 2024 Sasa & I outlined the idea of creating two albums from the heaping mass of new tracks we produced in the previous year.

We would make an album called “Sliver Jubilee” to celebrate the 25th anniversary of In Flagranti. And then we were to do a follow up album called “NoTown Hit Factory”.

“Silver Jubilee” was to be a commercial album with proper promotion and a toned down approach targeting a broader audience.

“NoTown Hit Factory”; the second album, found us back in full swing creating something profoundly offbeat musically and visually for our fans who expect nothing less from us: just like we always have for these last 25 years.

So enjoy the bumpy ride through filth & loathing filled sounds & imagery that we are profoundly and perhaps for now, perversely proud of.

Hailing from Barcelona, Lis Sarocca is an artist very much on the rise and her ever growing discography will go some way to explain why. She has starred on standout releases from the likes of MAAI, Tresydos, Smallville, Chiwax, Shall Not Fade, a vintage Mobilee entry, and the excellent collab between Anna Walls’ The Bricks and System Error. 

A regular fixture at some of Europe and America’s finest parties, she has written a line under a fantastic summer with a lauded performance at this year’s Dimensions Festival. There is no sign of the Spaniard turning in for the year as she continues to light up dancefloors wherever she appears.

Her recording for our InSession series is testament to this and her sunny disposition shines through in this mix as she guides us through bass heavy, breaky goodness, dubby deep house, with stop offs in wiggly disco heaters and more than a few wonky stations along the way.

Kenny Blacksmith’s “Church” -  the B1 gem from the third and final vinyl in M.A.D Records’ 5 Years anniversary trilogy - feels like both a spiritual offering and a dancefloor confession. It’s a track that perfectly embodies the ethos of the label’s milestone celebration: forward-thinking, groove-led, and deeply rooted in the joy of movement.

Built around a foundation of floating pads and a warm, deep synth line, “Church” radiates that classic Deep House sentiment - emotional yet understated, meditative yet driving. The bassline crackles with a textured crunch, propelling the rhythm forward while giving the track its irresistible body. Then, like a subtle revelation, the organ chords enter - not in grand sermon fashion, but as an atmospheric nod to the divine. Berlin-Hamburg duo Session Victim bring their celebrated Sidequests trilogy to a close with Chapter Three on Delusions Of Grandeur, wrapping up the series in signature style. Full of warmth, groove and left-of-centre touches that remind us why their music has remained so enduring over nearly two decades. Once again blurring the lines between live instrumentation, crate-digging textures and deep house aesthetics, the record feels like both a culmination and a new beginning.
On the A-side, ‘Too Soft To Be Loud (Ian Pooley Remix)’ finds German house pioneer Ian Pooley reworking the original into a sleek, floor-focused roller. Shuffling drums, glowing synth pads, and that distinctive Pooley touch elevate the track into prime late-night territory, striking a balance between hypnotic subtlety and groove-driven energy. ‘Know Less with Viken Arman’ showcases the magic of Session Victim’s continued collaboration with the French producer. Closing out the trilogy in style ‘Rain Or Shine’  introduces a new collaboration with San Francisco beatsmith Eo (Moniker/ Circus Company), weaving together intricate downtempo rhythms and jazzy vocal chops. Balancing lightness and depth, the track grooves along effortlessly giving off a sun-soaked energy - an uplifting finale to the Sidequests journey.
With Chapter Three, Session Victim deliver yet another set of genre-defying pieces that honour their deep musical roots while pointing toward fresh possibilities. Their chemistry with long-time collaborators, coupled with the ever-trusted Delusions Of Grandeur platform, ensures the Sidequests trilogy will stand as a modern classic in their discography.
