Essential Guide To Planet Rhythm (1994-1995)

Submerged in both Djing and production, Fabrizio Lapiana started his career as a Dj back in 1994, influenced mainly by the early 90's sound of Rome and Detroit as well by the first european pioneers of electronic music.

In his DJ sets, Fabrizio makes a precise and intimate techno flow that seduces the dancefloor mixing new and old vinyls range from deep, intricate techno, through an acid and groovy darkness with some melodic gems along the way. 

With his label “Attic Music”, founded in 2008, Fabrizio grow up his sound combining deep aesthetics and techno grooves often allowing ambient or industrial elements. To remember also the strong collaboration with Max_M on his M_Rec 10'' series in 2014, that showed his most emotional view of techno.
His performances in Rome as well in some of the finest wordwide clubs are a way to offer his right vibrations in the techno scene in the last years: the energy created by Fabrizio's sets worth living!

Brahian Arcila Aka Arzax nacido en la ciudad de medellin el 03 de mayo de 1992 en su trayectoria como Dj se caracteriza por sus sesiones fuertes siempre con un kick predominante en toda su mezcla, especialmente con sonidos industriales y acidos sin dejar a un lado sus atmosferas y melodias corrosivas asi transmitiendo a su publico un set energico y lleno de potencia. En su carrera como Dj ha tenido la oportunidad de pinchar en algunas de las ciudades con más renombre en la escena techno.

For PDR035 we're joined by local boys, Scottish Power.  A new collaboration by Paulitcal and New Town Ground.  They are also the names behind Still Distant Records, a new label which has had a quick impact within the scene.

For this release they share their vision of techno, which influenced by industrial and EBM sounds.  With the tracks coming together as part of a larger live set they are working towards.

The Start Has No End kicks things off.  There are no melodies here.  There is nothing uplifting.  We are going into darker, hypnotic territory.  Foregoing all that you hear in modern techno, Scottish Power focus on the atmosphere throughout this one.  And it's dark.  Filled with drones and mechanical dread, this is the sound of smoked filled warehouses.

Watching You in the Dark increases the BPM and has more if an EBM feel overall.  the bassline is predominant throughout, with synthwave style pads and synth stabs filtering in and out.  It maintains the darker atmosphere of The Start Has No End and delivers it in a different way.

Scottish Power have delivered here and then some.  Expect big things from them as a pair and individually.
