One of my 'Songs without Words' that brought me great pleasure in the composing. It has intensity in various ways: the intellectual counterpoint of the opening (like a baroque 2-part invention - the hands swap over on its second appearance), the tension of the second idea - withdrawn and wistful (or tragic), and the luscious romantic arching melodies of the third passage. These ideas each come round three times in various keys. At the end, the opening idea has the final word, but now in a heavyweight intensification. Please enjoy...!

I was just practicing tonight and felt like recording one of the pieces.  Beethoven's Sonata No. 14 in C# minor Op. 27 No. 2, or otherwise known as 'Quasi una fantasia' or the 'Moonlight Sonata'.  I recorded this on a Steinway D and mastered it in my mastering studio www.alpinemastering.com
