I started the series "Presents For Presents" a couple of years ago. It is dedicated to people, i love.  With each of these compositions, i want to express my gratitude  for the presence of  a friend and tell him or her:  Thank you for being part of my life!

The original version of  http://soundcloud.com/johannes-heinen/improvision-77 is one of my most popular tracks and has been played more than 22000 times. Yesterday, i found by chance the cubase-file of this track and decided to make a remix with an improved piano-sound and without  percussion. Hope you like this version as well!

The genre "Improvision", a coinage of Improvisation and Vision,was invented in 1987, when i recorded a very nice piano- improvisation . When i listened to the tape, i couldnt believe, that i really played this, because it sounded for me just like a fully worked out composition, which came to me like a vision from "i dont know where". I decided to transcribe it and corrected also some obviosly not so meant wrong notes. From this time on, im collecting Improvisions, and sometimes, i add additional instruments later.
This Improvision (#76) is a pure Improvisation, because there was no need to correct anything. It is also part of my project " PRESENTS FOR PRESENCE" and dedicated to my friend, the brilliant guitarist Wim van Stiphout.

This track is dedicated to my friend Regina. When i asked her, what kind of music she would like as a present for her presence, she said: funfair- music! So i composed this little nostalgic carousel waltz for her. By the way: she loved it! Hope, you enjoy the ride too!

In one of his last shows, i noticed some cute ants, crawling  along the edges and corners of the floor. When i looked twice, i saw, that  these ants were most accurate and realistic drawings! This composition,  "A Dance With Your Ants!" expresses my admiration for the  minimalistic poetry of this work and says: Thanks a lot for being there, Jon!

This "present for presence" is dedicated to my wonderful friend, the fabulous artist Barbara Adamek and is directly related to one of her three-dimensional paintings: "Eisland" (Oil on high-grade Steel). When i asked her about the instrumentation, she would like to hear in her piece, she said spontaneously: flute, gamelan and thundersheet.
