As the three were strolling through the woods on the fourth day, they noticed the grounds starting to vibrate when headed in a certain direction. Following the heavily beaten path, a squalid beam of light arose through the depths of the forest..

Travelling forth from the widely praised ‘Off The Grid EP’, Nuno dos Santos’ Something Happening Somewhere is back with the second instalment of it’s story driven streak of releases. Based on the Rendlesham Forest Incident, the Belgian threesome Mayaku fired up their analog hardware and recorded their version of the story: a throbbing 13 minute jam named ‘Bushwalking’. With it’s quintessential bassline and strange, organic touches all across, this original provides a welcome breath of fresh air when played, or as Nuno puts it: ‘’Bushwalking is able to reverse the mood on the dancefloor.’’

On the flip side of the vinyl, slowing down the tempo and adding additional layers of density is Johannes Brecht. Bells and rhodes cooperate unifying melody and mystery, while the original killer bassline is retained for maximum effect, creating a remix suitable for almost every record bag out there.

Rounding off the EP is a final slow burner summoned by Dilated Pupils, a new collective from Nijmegen shrouded in secrecy. Hypnotising crowds, closing eyes, raising hands. Their Burning Bush Remix sounds as though it was recorded at the Rendlesham Incident site itself.

Conclusions could be drawn about what took place during those nights back in 1980, but the only thing that is certain was that Something was Happening, Somewhere.

When Henrik Schwarz heard the music from Johannes Brecht he knew now was the time to reactivate his label SUNDAY-MUSIC again that hasnt released a record in quite a while now. Johannes is a wonderful musician that plays bass and keyboards and also writes music for orchestra. When a classically trained musician looks into electronic music and manages to bring together the best of both worlds the result can be very exciting. On this EP are 3 tracks that show his versatility and musicality. HOLLA is a beautiful deep monster with one of those touching synth lines that you dont want to ever stop, PEOPLE is a jacking house track that bursts of energy and BOB shows that Johannes also can leave his fingerprint in a more minimalistic environment.

Not one to revel too much in the limelight, Johannes Brecht prefers to ply his trade in the shadows - fitting for his oceandeep productions. The Stuttgart native marks his first outing on Steve Bug's inimitable Poker Flat Recordings with an exceptionally atmospheric EP sure to make it's mark with the deeper end of the DJ fraternity.
