I often like to work my tunes around a famous (or not-so-famous) picture or photograph as a source of inspiration. I came across this fantastic photo by Giuseppe Milo, who is based in Dublin. It shows two little Irish street buskers earning their pocket money in a very inventive way. So, what’s their story? As the little boy plays, does the little girl dance, sing or just sit politely thanking the punters for throwing their coins into the case as they pass by? What tune would the little boy be playing on his accordion - an old tune, a new tune, or an old forgotten tune? I would like to dedicate the piece to all the street buskers who entertain us as we pass by. I hope you enjoy it.

FMT: En Camasobres. Septiembre 1939. Saray Plaza de 18 años (cuando se recogió), de mediana posición, natural y vecina de Camasobres. La aprendió de su padre (Q.P.D.) cuando aún era muy niña. Es muy antigua, se canta en el baile con pandereta y tambor, en cualquier fiesta. Es baile a lo alto, y se baila, según nombre por esta tierra, a lo «agarrao».
OMPMGR: Camasobres. Septiembre 1939. Dictaron Máxima Gaitón, Saray Plaza y Juliana Martínez. Con este motivo se compuso la canción de ronda del mismo título para coro a 6 v.m. y estrenada por la Coral Filarmónica Palentina en 1940 (segunda época). Texto lírico que acompaña la canción: Anochecer en el pueblo… en el horizonte de montañas se desploman las últimas luces de la tarde…Las mozas acuden a la fuente entre un coro de risas juveniles y encendidos requiebros. Las palabras y los cantares en el mágico crepúsculo primaveral inician un diálogo ingenuo: —¿Dónde vas a por agua, querer sabía? —¿Dónde vas a por agua? —Voy a la ría… —Con disculpa del agua, verte querría.
