Price of Living - Aku Matu

I wrote Idita Funk 20 in Spring 2020 to honor the 1049 mile Iditarod dogsled race from Anchorage to Nome Alaska. It is a thru. composed melody with three separate distinct sections that are inspired by the many different scenes the mushers encounter along the Iditarod race course. . The song opens with a funky groove and a melody played by me on vibes and Laura Koenig on flute accompanied by me on Rhodes keys, drum set and key bass. The 2nd section switches to a Brazilian Baion groove and features solos by Laura Koenig on flute and Mark Manners on guitar. The 3rd section morphs into a Mambo style groove featuring me on marimba and Laura Koenig on flute.
