'All Above The Colours' is a mystic al Eastern influenced slab of chilled blissed goodness. Some luscious pads and cool simple percussion add depth to proceedings, and we have ourselves a thing of beauty. Dreamy and warm, and then the beats land...

'History Is BW On TV' is a chiming melodic tinkling gem, with wondrous layers, creating a fantastical soundscape. Thoughts of summers day, lying in a field of freshly cut grass emerge as meeting a trippy chasm of goodness.

'Burning Close To The Core' may only be short and sweet, but its power is in its simplicity. Beautiful key changes and plenty of depth here as this magical wonder unfurls its magic.

Spanck recorded a 17-minute grab bag of mid-tempo beats, high tech gurgles, Lo-fi effects and an ocean of gorgeous singing. It’s like an electronic music encyclopedia with overwhelming lyrics: digital strings play repetitive melodies that split the difference between contemporary alternative and dance music, percussion instruments rattle and whisper in seductive ways and tap into the most divine parts of our consciousness. The title track is saturated by headlines of failed questions, doubts, and emotional pursuits, and it’s an object lesson in how to engage an inspiration crisis without overused words. How to build up your self-confidence like Spanck and do things your way? Stop making excuses and take responsibility for your art.

Forget other Sambey’s works! Not that this is better than "Rululu", "If I Go First", "Empty Picture Frames", "Hebe XVI" and the rest – it’s obvious that such comparisons are needless. Ambient electronica has been done well in the past in a variety of different ways by authors such as Yellow Magic Orchestra, Jean-Michel Jarre, Éric Serra and Vangelis, but here the focus is on modern, progressive and forward-looking themes and a few well-chosen percussive tracks. What makes this EP unusual is the manner in which the soundscape is presented and produced. The result is a delightful opus that creates abstract feelings and new dimensions of elegant and rather timeless home listening music.
