String Quartet No. 6 (Elegy For Morton Feldman)

"Rossiniana", my 19th string quartet (2019), was written for Luisa MacConville, a good friend who has tirelessly organized the Con Brio Concert Series in Sligo for over 20 years. Rossini is one of her favourite composers and so this mash-up of famous themes was written as a gift for her to mark the 20th anniversary of Con Brio.

'Unbroken white line' (2006)  is a re-working of the first half of my saxophone quartet 'Ghosts' - I felt the music would work very well on strings and it turned out to be the case.
The piece was premiered by the Carducci Quartet at a concert to inaugurate the new CIT Cork School of Music.
