Haoussa perfectly represents the new Moroccan generation which is undergoing extensive changes. The band surfs the waves of irreverence, tradition, creative language and mind-blowing rock music.

The musicians, led by the singer Khalid Moukdar, switch with ease from hardcore primal ska to folk, reggae, hip hop and funk.  Haoussa symbolizes the emergence of the new Moroccan musical scene.

These showmen belong to the portion of Moroccan musicians who are committed, unclassifiable, full of unfailing energy and moved by an insatiable curiosity. They are named, for lack of appropriate label ‘the alternative scene’ where the most audacious avant-garde meets the most deeply rooted traditions.

This native band of Casablanca exports its crossbreed fusion and thereby makes a major contribution to the great musical adventure of  a rock made in Morocco.

William Du Bois Yaw Sakyi Kumi also Known as Koo Kumi is a spoken word artist who describes himself as a multi disciplined artist with a background of visual arts and performance art too. He was born on the 5th of May, 1994. He hails from Mampong Akuapem from the Eastern Region part of Ghana. He is known by many as a poet and a photographer. He started putting his poems out on social media in 2012 after writing for a long time. Koo Kumi won the first national teen slam in Ghana in 2013 at the National Theatre with his co performer Nana Yirenkyi. His style of poetry is inspired by real life experiences, this has earned him a spot on peoples lists of expressionists artists. He has been tipped as unique due to the sound of his voice which hides his youth and his vintage avant garde hipsy type of fashion. After High School, he went to the Ghana Institute of Journalism to study journalism as a major. At Ghana Institute of Journalism, he won the Student Poet of the year award at the university’s eminence awards in 2017. He is the leader and founder of Trotro Vibes, an art movement which uses public transport as a stage. He has performed on over 100 stages in Ghana. He described poetry as “The native language of the heart which doesn’t need any interpreter for one to understand the meaning”.
