 Jan Krüger´s passion for house and techno music began in the early '90s when he was still living in his birthplace of Düsseldorf, where he worked in a record store called "Flipside Records", switched than beside his Dj&producer-work to become the sales manager of "Word &Sounds"- distribution. As the co-founder of his own label "Hello?Repeat" Jan is known as an afterhours specialist, working a slinky and hypnotic minimal house groove.

It does not come as a surprise that Jan Krueger is taking part in our Mix Series for a number of reasons, he was our first guest resident for our party 5 years ago, an artist that has always been at the top of his craft and an essential part of our identity. However, the occasion is very out of the usual, our event celebration with them as Toi Toi join forces with Hello?Repeat to bring you our biggest event to date. 

We have teamed up to celebrate that Hello?Repeat Records turns 10 years old while Toi.Toi. turns 5 so we thought that, to go along with our OFF-BCN Week event it would be nice to have a mix from our dearest family member.  

By listening to this outstanding mix it gives us the feeling of so much pride that Jan has been our resident since the birth of our party and still holds strong as one of the djs we mostly admire, one that never fails to inspire with so much class and sophistication.

Studio r° 2012

The balance of funk, soul, passion, creativity, and desire was captured from an early age. 

When John was six or seven years old, he would listen to "The Electrifying Mojo" on 97.9 FM in the early 80’s after being tucked away for bed.  
Listening even as late as 2-3 AM, rolling his head back and forth, waving his hands in the air, pretending to play the drums; he heard different styles, frequencies, and artistic forms of electronic music. 

While often hearing the piano and organ growing up, John felt in love with the vibration tones of the lower bass foot pedals; being barely tall enough to turn on the organ, being mesmerized by the drum patterns of the organ, it was actually the foot pedals, which were at his disposal, and immediately became the core of what he could reach and was drawn to.

As the years continued, John went on to tour in Moscow with one of his hottest live performances to date. John is constantly perfecting his sound and has gone back into seclusion, putting his productions first once more. Releasing "Lost Tracks" on his label that have been buried for years, but also on an entirely new path and journey, he will finally be sharing new material once again will the world very soon. 

A new live pa is on the horizon for Detroit very soon.
