An Easy Kind of Love

Children need a sense that they  are loved and cared for.  For those that are lucky enough to be grandparents, you play a large role in providing this assurance.  Children are also curious.  You should tell them stories about their family.  These stories will be precious to them.

Granddaddy

I wrote this song after the news media was covering the death of a little girl attempting to immigrate to the U.S.  Everyone should agree that children should be protected and loved.

The Golden Door

As I grow older, I find that I have lost touch with many friends that were an important part of my life.  For some, I have simply lost touch.  More that a few others have passed away.  Remembering the people that were "Old Friends" is important.  Our lives have been shaped by these beloved people.  Also, take care of your new friends who will someday be "Old Friends".

Old Friends

When I was a child, the Swannanoa  River (Cherokee for beautiful river) was a beautiful clear mountain stream.  Industry moved into the valley and polluted it until it died.  Efforts in recent years have restored the river to its original beauty.  The spirits now smile.
