Heaven in the Dark

“Wiped Clean” is a dark, apocalyptic techno prophecy, driven by thunderous industrial drums, pulsing distorted rhythms, and a deep, gritty male vocal that feels like a warning broadcast from the edge of the end times creating a soundscape where ancient judgment collides with modern corruption.

The lyrics retell the story of the world God once flooded—a planet drowning in violence, pride, and spiritual decay—and draw a chilling parallel to today’s society. Screens glow like idols, sin cycles like machinery, and humanity walks blindly toward another collapse. Through dark spoken verses and harsh FX-shouted choruses, the song challenges listeners to confront their own darkness before the world is spiritually “wiped clean” again.

Yet beneath the dread lies a lifeline:

a call to repentance, mercy, and return to God before the internal flood breaks the dam.

Cold, cinematic, prophetic, and intensely modern,

“Wiped Clean” feels like a sermon delivered through circuitry,

We're not even close to recovering from the sonic assault of Technique's twentieth-anniversary 'Remix LP' but the follow-up strike is already upon us. We've seen classics from the back cat get the treatment from the likes of A.M.C, Bladerunner, Marky and Digital, but now it's all about looking to the future. With ten brand new killer tunes, the Technique Recordings gang are already setting a benchmark for 2020.

And, judging by this album, the picture of what's to come is multi-hued and multi-faceted.

The break-focused future-jungle tear-out of Drumsound & Bassline Smith's 'Ruffneck Soldier' – already a tried and tested deejay weapon on dub – sits alongside the cinematic expanse of L Plus's 'The Planet' and the controlled aggression of NC-17 and Exile's 'War'.

As if to emphasise the variety, No Concept's Kerizma-laced 'Electrify' rubs shoulders with Tantrum Desire and Youngman's 'Precision', offering us a horror-influenced stomper and a soul-meets-staccato dancefloor workout respectively. And that's before we even get into the contribution from DJSS, 'Only Get Better', blending subtlety and savagery in equal measure.

Jade, one of the primary architects of the neurofunk sound, presents the latest release on his distinguished imprint Eatbrain;
Telekinesis – The Nightwalkers EP. Telekinesis - the highly praised Slovenian duo consisting of Smooth and Markoman - joins an already drool-worthy roster of neurofunk talent on Eatbrain, further solidifying the label’s reputation as a stalwart of quality drum and bass. And with names like Concord Dawn and MC Coppa in the equation, the 6th release on Eatbrain stands out as a must-own for any neurofunk head.

Nightwalkers EP kicks off with an dynamic collaboration between Telekinesis and Coppa, the Berlin-based MC who's collaborations with Prolix and Mindscape made enormous waves within the drum and bass scene in 2012. Telekinesis’s knack for atmosphere comes into full effect at the outset before Coppa's infectious rhymes take hold, winding things up into an irresistible drop. Still possessing the same raw ferocity that Telekinesis has become known for, 'Pocket Full Of Drops' takes their sound into playful territory. Combining their dirty signature bass, cleanly constructed drums, and Coppa's clever lyricism, 'Pocket Full of Drops' a true mood-lifter bound to crush any dancefloor it touches. Good vibes, plain and simple. 

Next up, New Zealand badboy Concord Dawn features on the EP's eponymous track, 'Nightwalkers.' Opening with an optimistic-sounding concoction of warm pads, a light drum break, and shimmering synth arpeggios, the melody soon takes a darker turn as the full-moon comes out and the dead begin to rise. By the time the tune drops, it's too late - you've already been bitten by Telekinesis and Concord Dawn's monstrous musical creation, and there is no hope for you. One thing is certain; 'Nightwalkers' is a hauntingly contagious track capable of turning an otherwise normal human into a mindless dancing abomination. Beware.

The EP's third track, 'Lich,' promises to slay crowds with its upbeat neurofunk vibes. Clean drums, spirited keys, and a dirty yet carefully polished bassline make this energetic roller a dangerous piece of ammunition. Nightwalkers EP wraps up with a truly fun yet complex exercise in future funk, 'She Wants To Skate'. A tune made purely for the dancefloor, 'She Wants To Skate' jumps right into things with tight, lively drums and an uplifting synth riff. Telekinesis's trademark bass warms itself up, before ripping into full swing at the drop, twisting and turning throughout the track amidst a catchy chopped up vocal. 'She Wants To Skate' is a particularly infectious joint, bound to get bodies moving and put smiles on faces.
