People's Potential Unlimited (PPU) is a very special record label in DC known for discovering and reissuing some of the weirdest and best ultra-rare boogie, funk, and other dance music from the 70s, 80s, 90s as well as a new generation of beat-makers who draw inspiration from these strange worlds of sound.

Started by music fiend Andrew Morgan and operated out of his basement, PPU’s is a world that re-imagines funk as outsider art and cosmic-boogie as a modern variant of folk music. What would it be like if your school janitor made rap music in the broom closet or if someone in middle management still nursed a dream of being the next El Debarge? The label’s roster includes Robbie M., Dwight Sykes, Evans Pyramid, George Franklin Smallwood, Uku Kuut—names found on demo tapes abandoned to time, or else unearthed online. But PPU also pushes the present into the future. Newest members of the PPU family include DC favorite sons Beautiful Swimmers,  Dreamcastmoe, King Pari, PPU VHS Video mulcher Luke Wyatt, LA beathead Benedek, Vancouver space cadets Pender Street Steppers and Miami sound machine Mickey de Grand IV. There's a palpable scent of both mustiness and freshness to be found in all of PPU's grooves though, the smell of funk from a parallel dimension.

Minimal, Breaks, House, Techno, Disco, Downtempo, Hiphop #Greenshirtguy from Mixmag, DJMag, MMW, Movement, NYC, DC.  Love for Dancing and DJing.  Love to play many styles of music and am an aspiring music artist and collaborating with many talented Local DJs and Producers in DC at ESL, Flash, U Street Music Hall.   Plan to upload productions and dj mixes with tracklists for free downloads so please follow me and like my facebook page (It will motivate me to be more active and post tracks, sets, and playlists at least monthly). Nate….Nate G or Nate Geezie

Whatever name you know him by…Nate has been involved in music in a variety of forms. He has been DJing since 1998 when he purchased his first set of turntables. In the years that would follow, Nate would find himself hosting his own campus radio show, DJing events and parties throughout the state of Indiana and rapidly increasing his music collection.

After college, he would move to the East Coast, where he landed a job working at XM Satellite Radio for 5 years. His passion for music grew and he began to DJ parties and events throughout the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas including his own series of charity fundraising events.

Where does your dream start?

dreamcastmoe aka Davon Bryant-Mason is a lifelong resident of Washington DC, formerly the chocolate city. He is the singer, songwriter, producer who since 2017 has quietly been releasing some of the most hotly tipped and underground genre spanning music.	

Traversing across R&B, funk, soul, jazz and hip-hop, Bryant slickly moves between styles and tones. This ability to twist and turn in different directions - yet remain stylistically coherent - can be traced to his home city of DC and the makeup of the neighbourhoods.

His beats are a mirror to his life lived and experienced there. “I would not be where I am today if I weren’t from DC,” he says. “You can hear DC in the way that I talk. Certain runs in my voice are rooted to the soul of DC because I listen to a lot of Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye. I would say DC has a role in my approach to my music and sets the tone. I’m one of those people that could work with anyone. I always try to bring the best out of people. That’s just how I grew up. I grew up in a smorgasbord of a city where one block could be hood shit and the next block could be the White House. You have to know how to move accordingly through all those spaces.”
