“Sad & Sanitized” is a collection of songs I wrote during quarantine in this pandemic. The album explores the feelings of isolation, loneliness, and distance from loved ones, significant others, and even family. It was a flurry of emotions dealing with an event that none of us could’ve ever been prepared for. With us artists losing gigs and opportunities left and right, I was just trying to make the most of this time to continue to create and build others up. We’re all going through same thing, wanted to tell stories of the experiences and make it as accessible and relatable as I could.

“day dream” is about being unable to love another person because you’re unable to love yourself. This person is torn up inside and going through emotional warfare. Loving someone else during this time is almost impossible, yet they try to anyways. So, instead of letting go, they stay in order to please the other person. Writing the song came so easily because I personally went through something like this. @itsjmaine showed me this beat and I instantly fell in love with it. @crcrucial & I wrote a good chunk of the song in 15 mins because this shit was so real. I hope this is as healing for some of you just as it was for me during the process.

John Concepcion is a 24-year-old R&B artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He got his start in music at the tender age when his dad taught a young John to play the guitar. It was at this point that John’s father encouraged him to develop his voice and talent. In Junior High, John found himself rapping, being influenced by artists including Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Tyga. During his early years of high school, John began to build a name for himself amongst his peer group, furthering his introduction into the world of break dancing and hip hop competitions.

At the age of 15, John decided that his next move was to be a singer. He focused his energy into honing his craft, so much so that by the age of 17 John was invited to New York by Sony Music to audition for multiple boy bands. John's influences include modern day legends such as Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Ty Dolla $ign, Usher, and Justin Bieber. With early beginnings on YouTube creating covers and releasing original material, John has grown his YouTube channel to boast over 61,000 subscribers. His cover of Justin Bieber ‘s single, “Yummy,” reached Justin himself and is surpassing 700,000 views. John’s self-released singles and EP have crossed 1.2 million streams on Spotify alone.
