With millions of records sold, the Santa Barbara, California native has come a long way since writing the lyrics for the first Toad the Wet Sprocket album as a 15-year-old.  

In a career that's seen two Platinum albums and multiple hit singles, the band Phillips started fronting in 1986 is still creating. Toad the Wet Sprocket's latest single, "Old Habits Die Hard," is available now.

This song was inspired by band member Kyle Rousseau's travels and written in the redwood forests of Northern California. There will always be things that'll trouble you. Sometimes taking a step back to be mindful of the fact that we are each just a tiny part of this great existence can make these troubles seem more manageable.
