Anne Leighton believes that artists can work within their own means by creating their own career opportunities. And she has done that for herself via her love of mass media, as a writer, publicist and a music services person. Her roster includes Joe Deninzon/Stratospheerius, Phoebe Legere, Ian Anderson, Gary Lucas, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Kripalu Yoga Teacher Greg O’Donovan, Grand Funk Railroad, Gentle Giant, John Hall & Orleans, Shun Ng and Magic Dick, Carmine &  Vinny Appice, Sharon Katz & the Peace Train, and herself!

After helping a variety of artists, most recently Wouter Kellerman, Jann Klose, and Alex Boye’ get on the map in North America, Anne found herself a songwriting deal with Sheer Publishing on the strength of her song, GOT MY EYE ON YOU SANTA.  She spends a lot of her time writing and producing new songs.

Anne is an active writer with four books, most recently her poetry book, THE LEIGHTON EXPLOSION (Soul Asylum Poetry, Canada). Also in her catalog are: PAWS FOR THOUGHT: UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOUR CAT IS THINKING (Rockwell Books, UK), USING YOUR ART & THE MEDIA TO COMFORT PEOPLE (Free to Run Books, US), an e-book: GET THE GIG: COMMON SENSE CONSULTING (Anne Leighton).

An active poet, she harkens back to Greek attitudes, and performs her work in the marketplace. Notable venues have included the Howl! Festival, Peter Max Studio for the HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT album release, and at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. She has studied with Billy Collins, Nadine Mouzon, Regie Gibson and Mindy Matijasevic.
She is an active keynote speaker, having shared insights on writing, creating music careers, and all aspects of the media for a number of conventions including the CMJ CONVENTION, IBS CONVENTION, EMPIRE STATE MUSIC CONFERENCE, THE MILLENIUM CONFERENCE, DIY CONVENTION, CAT WRITERS CONVENTION, and taught Entertainment Media Relations and Publicity at Baruch College.

Anne's worked in radio at WZIR-Buffalo, WRNW-Briarcliff Manor, WFUV-Bronx, WBUZ-Fredonia, and was an editor at HIT PARADER magazine, plus freelanced for a number of magazines including FELINE WELLNESS, CATFANCY, MUSCLEMAG INTERNATIONAL, INSIDE KARATE/KUNG FU, GOLDMINE, and CREEM. Her plays include REACH FOR THE SUN, which was performed by Poets Repertory Theater of Long Island, ONE WAY TO HEAVEN performed by the San Antonio Living Church, and THE PASSION OF MARY which was read at the Kingsbridge Library Center in her hometown of the Bronx, and is now published by Off the Wall Plays in the UK and South Africa.

Rew*: Plays music for kidz of ALL ages….she has graced the stage with many of her inspirations, including Regina Spektor, Joey Ramone, George Clinton, Patti Smith, David Johanson, Murphy's Law, BETTY, the Spin Doctors & more. Her latest release that*S*rite {featuring Billy Ficca {TELEVISION, Waitresses on drumz} has received rave reviews & songs are in steady rotation on Sirius and lots of college Radio stations.   Her song 'u suck' is featured in the television series the 'BAD GIRLS CLUB' on the Oxygen Network; her song 'u persued me' recently won the Atlas Media songwriting contest. 
‘skeletonz’ was a semi finalist on Sirius radio and is played on many airlines.
Her songz *i don’t wanna* & *addicted 2 sleaze* are featured in the documentary 
“All’s Well & Fair”, by film maker Luci Westphal.  
 Rew* is a core organizer and performer for the
 Girls Rock Girls Rule Tour and the international MAMAPALOOZA festival.  
Rew was the hostess of the quirky, trendy internet show *Rew & WhO?* for seven years at *Otto*s Shrunken Head* in NYC
