Steyoyoke are proud to work alongside fast rising star Habischman in bringing you their next EP titled ‘The Moment’. Having already donned productions on labels such as Noir, Moda Black and VIVA Music, this single track release has definitely sparked a wave of excitement within the Steyoyoke camp. BLANCAh and head honcho Soul Button are on remix duties for this one and each imprint ‘The Moment’ with their own personal flavours.
The original is built around a solid bassline and a consistent flurry of vocals, which echo in and out throughout the entire track. A backdrop of ominous chord changes drive the track to build upon itself, leading you to a momentary suspension of sound during the breakdown, before giving way to a drop and then continuing along with the same momentum.
Soul Button’s remix takes things one level deeper, finding an extra groove for this track to channel upon. Boasting a slightly more dubbed vibe then the original and displaying darker percussive elements, this remix certainly has some grunt to it. The vocals however, do stay true to Habischman’s original.
The second remix of ‘The Moment’ is from BLANCAh and she chooses to strip back the original somewhat, giving it a distinctive minimal techno influence. As a result, the track becomes a chugging wave of rolling bass lines and layered synth riffs. BLANCAh also incorporates some extra panning effects which tease and tantalise the aural frequencies.

John Monkman makes his debut on Noir Music and this guy has been on my radar for quite some time now due to releases on Kompakt, Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical. I got the Trusting Source track about 6 months ago and basically signed it after one listen. Since then both John and I have been road- testing, talking about the track and John has been adjusting the track to dancefloor perfection. In the process of it all I suggested John that he made a 2-tracker instead of a single release of Trusting Source. He knocked me off my feet with first listen of Lacquer which is another genius piece of music from the London-based producer.Both tracks are super groovy. Trusting Souce being the classic and timeless effort and Lacquer the more experimental and forward thinking piece.Hit play and check out this fantastic double a-side release.

'Seasone' might be the definitive breakthrough for this emerging artist though, as it's got all the key elements to become a widely supported single. Ass shaking tribal rhythms, an infectious African vocal and an overall sound that will appeal to many.

The single comes in a peak time 2AM mix and a more chilled out- but still dance floor friendly 2PM mix.

John Monkman stands at the forefront of the global electronic music scene. Known for his dynamic performances and cutting-edge studio productions, Monkman has earned a reputation as both a live music pioneer and a master of sound design.

Affiliated with some of the most prestigious labels in electronic music, including Kompakt, Ellum, Beesemyer Music, Siamese, and Anjunadeep, Monkman delivered the spellbinding track Siren for Kompakt and collaborated with Pete Tong on Ecstasis for Maceo Plex's Ellum Audio. His releases, such as the Komplex EP on Anjunadeep and the versatile Tune In Turn On EP for Ellum, highlight his remarkable range. With two Beatport number ones—his remix of Solomon Grey's Twilight and his single Don’t Have to Be Beautiful—Monkman has further cemented his influence on the global electronic music scene.

Equally compelling is Monkman’s remix portfolio. His remix of U Love for Sasha’s LNOE 100th release, supported by Patrice Bäumel and Sasha, showcases his creative versatility. His rework of Space Date by Adam Beyer and Green Velvet for Drumcode demonstrates the respect he commands within the industry. Monkman has also been remixed by Moby. In 2023, he reunited with Pete Tong for an official remix of Duran Duran's Give It Up, marking another standout moment in his career.

On the live stage, Monkman’s impact is undeniable. He has headlined festivals like the UK’s Noisily Festival, brought his live set to the Ozora Festival in Hungary, and performed at the Anjunadeep Festival in Albania. His recent achievements include headlining Rainbow Serpent 2021. The debut of John Monkman: Live at Coachella 2018 with The DoLab was a pivotal moment, revealing his innovative approach to live performance.

The year 2024 has been a defining chapter for Monkman. His latest live show, Pulse, premiered in Paris through a collaboration with Collectif Scale, breaking new ground with its kinetic light art installation. Filmed in a Paris warehouse on July 6th, this show delivers an immersive audiovisual experience that pushes creative boundaries. In the same year, Monkman released Khord on Anjunadeep, followed by three singles—Vader, Roller Vox, and MAYA—on Beesemyer Music.
