Raxon is at the forefront of the melodic techno scene thanks to always well-designed sounds on Diynamic, Kompakt, Cocoon and more. As a DJ, too, he explores an interplanetary sound that has seen him on the billing at influential festivals and clubs worldwide, from DGTL to Resistance Ibiza at Privilege.

He opens this one with the superb 'Input Robot,' a jostling broken techno groove laced up with sleek cosmic chords. Alien life forms live between the beats, and the elastic bass keeps you moving as the track rolls on through a turbulent night sky.

Then comes 'Mantis,' a terrifically twitchy and astral track. Robot vocals are stitched into the mix with turbo-charged synths and a looping bassline over heavy drums. It's the sound of intergalactic warfare with a real sense of electronic funk and cinematic design.

The ‘Input Robot EP’ is another innovative techno exploration from Raxon.

Australia's fasting rising talent "Luke Alessi" continues his trajectory with a second standalone EP on mobilee. We loved his "Matter" EP and Squire "Hundred Falls" Remix so much, they were featured on our Totally Mobilee 2021 and Mobilee Rooftop Summer 2021 compilations.

We have no doubt that "Nothingness" and "Molecular Motions" will similarly become part of our continued soundscape.

"Nothingness" delivers a true journey through Luke's already signature sound. A vocal story leads the way, whilst unique instruments interplay and drive the pace into crescendos and through moments of understated euphoria.

"Molecular Motions" kicks straight into a dreamy and rhythmic dance experience powered by worldly drums, where you hear a glimpse of an alternate plane through word, song, and emotion.

John Monkman returns to Ellum Audio with a pair of well-crafted cosmic techno tracks.

London-based John Monkman is the founder of Beesemyer Music but also serves up his rich sounds on Kompakt, Last Night On Earth and Drumcode. He works across multiple styles and as much as making music for the club, he also cooks up richly atmospheric and emotive music. He has worked with Pete Tong, Bryan Ferry and Nile Rodgers and when on tour, he plays live in the world's best venues.
First up is the immediately arresting 'Perception' with its flashes of synth, whirring drones and textured drums. Spoken words bring a sense of paranoia as twitchy effects, icy percussion and swinging drums all work you into a frenzy. Monkman took inspiration from a Timothy Leary interview for the record envisioning “a phrase repeating with a synthesizer response, in essence a conversation between man & machine”.

Second cut 'Impulse' is a more groove-driven tune with kicks that rock back and forth under slapping hits. The synth designs are futuristic and the whole vibe is one of intergalactic exploration of the unknown.
Both of these hugely accomplished tracks will bring a scene of cinematic drama to any set.

'Grey Bar Hotel is a Berlin-based melodic house label curated by Michael Ritter and Felix E. Alongside showcases in and outside of Germany, the imprint focuses on fostering local and international artists, working with Kamilo Sanclemente, Indigo Man, Supacooks, and many more since the label’s inception in 2018. Returning to his own Grey Bar Hotel for his latest release, the DJ/producer delivers four deep and moving tracks across the ‘Yawa Raf’ EP. Leading the release, the title track ‘Yawa Raf’ builds with rolling percussion amongst sparkling, discordant motifs, filtered vocals, and a rolling low-end groove. ‘Barfuss’ continues with deep kicks, a gentle bassline, and hypnotic synth lines building up to a delicate piano sequence. Rapid-fire shakers and hi-hats meet club-friendly analogue leads on ‘Cassé’, before closing track ‘Elephant’ rounds out the release with syncopated melodic elements and clever arrangements amongst gorgeous chords. The talented French artists both have a discography that goes back to the '90s. Kiko a veteran of 500+releases, highlighted by his 1998 cut 'World Cup' that was continued a minor techno classic at the time.He's gone through many sonic incarnations since then and is currently turning heads with superbproduction on labels including Diynamic and Afterlife. POPOF, meanwhile, is a genre flexitarian, just asadept at releasing on Cocoon and Truesoul as he is Hot Creations, and now of course - Watergate Records.
'Night Sky' is a big, bright dancefloor pummeller, made for peak-time moments and driven by a stirringchord sequence. 'Love Triangle' is a shimmering nu disco beauty, propelled by a sharp tech underbelly.Fresh from her much-loved 'Raver Girl' EP, Yulia Niko contributes a slick re-rub of the title track, retainingthe original's glistening melodic lead, while giving it a punchier bottom end. Rounding out the packagestrongly, rising UK duo Mia Mendi give 'Love Triangle' the remix touch, re-fashioning it into a sublimebreakbeat gem made for early morning on the Waterfloor.

Every now & then a demo lands into our inbox and shapes the future of the label. Julian Koerndl's track 'Messiah' did just that and there's more to come from him later this year.
Julian has been honing his craft in the studio for the past year as has been a prominent name in the electronic underground scene kicks things off nicely with his original mix of 'Messiah'. The full-on festival vibes shine through, as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and original vocals sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth.

Making their debut on Somatic are French duo Mozaik. After outings on such labels as Eklektisch, Sapiens & Moblack, The boys have created a rework full of tension from the word go, developing a unique style; consisting of dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fit in any kind of club or festival.

Up next and also making his debut is Matt Klear. Matt caught our attention earlier this year with his signature old school 2 step sounds brought forward into the 21st century. The groove and melodies are the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow and creating an air of sophistication.

Juicebox Music welcomes Scippo back on the imprint for our 59th release with a 2-track EP featuring "Sticky Lips" & "Sense". Currently based in Barcelona (Spain), the Argentinian-born artist first appeared on the label through our 'Tales of Time - Chapter 2' compilation with a a beautiful synth-ridden electronica piece - "Fortezza". Scippo made his mark in the industry through his initial productions back in 2019 that were featured on Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat' & Nick Warren's 'Balance' compilation, followed by anthemic EPs on Nick's 'Hope Recordings' + DJ Samer's 'Pangea Recordings'.

Scippo now presents his latest offering with "Sticky Lips" & "Sense", which sees him stepping outside the comfort-zone to explore a completely new sound for himself. Non-linear arrangements, experimental sound-design & sonic influences from multiple genres are the main key elements that are shared between the two tracks, with "Sticky Lips" aiming for the big dancefloor moments and "Sense" gunning for the more quirky & hypnotic darker rooms.

Breaking out in 2015, John Monkman seized the attention of the global dance music community with the release of two widely acclaimed summer dance-floor gems: his remix of Solomon Grey’s ‘Twilight’ (Beatport #1) on Anjunadeep and 'PHØENIX' with Pete Tong, released via German label Kompakt. The latter marked the second collaboration between the two, following on from their Suara single ‘The Bumps’, which was remixed by electronic music royalty Moby in 2015. The pair delivered a third instalment together in 2016 with the engrossing 'Aurora' on Beesemyer.

Having crafted a signature powerhouse sound that has been strongly endorsed by the likes of Crosstown Rebel's Damian Lazarus, Drumcode titan Adam Beyer and LNOE boss Sasha, John Monkman has emerged as a much-trusted source for supreme dance-floor fuel. 

Renowned for his impeccable quality in the studio and on the stage, the US-born, UK-bred producer and performer has taken his productions around the world, performing in iconic venues from Brazil's Warung to Ibiza's Ushuaia and beyond. 

After kicking off 2018 with the Solomun and Sasha approved Massai' EP on his own imprint, John Monkman delivered a scintillating live show on April 21st at California's renowned Coachella festival. In addition to taking his sounds across the globe, the Summer saw killer releases in 'Ketosis' and Anjunadeep gem 'Magnolia' as well as a new chapter in his on-going collaboration with Pete Tong titled 'Placebo'. Closing out 2018 John Monkman made his debut appearance on Maceo Plex's Ellum imprint with a cutting-edge two tracker in the form of the 'Tune In Turn On' EP. 

Early 2019 saw a return to the prestigious Kompakt for the relentless ‘Pesto Punk’ in collaboration with James Monro, followed by a Drumcode debut in remixing label boss Adam Beyer. He continued a triumphant year with a masterful three track release on Anjunadeep titled ‘Komplex’.
