This song is from the heart-inspired by a dear old friend, and a life-altering post on Facebook by a new friend, that made me rethink healing. No matter who you are at some point you will or have gotten hurt, in some way by this world. Sometimes, even often, we create this damage with our own actions, but not always; sometimes we are victims of the actions of others. When you start the healing process, as you were designed to do, things, life itself may seem different, I have always felt those moments in my life I could actually taste the hope, the promise that I would be better off tomorrow then I was yesterday, or today. Life is a constant healing process. The most important thing is not to close off to the world, but to open to the world and all that is waiting to be discovered in life when we do engage it. Never easy, but the reward is unmatched when you tap in to your potential as a person and as a connected being, not a master of your craft, but as master of you life; that life, shared with all the other souls, in this traveling circus of Earth. All of us together, healing each other and ourselves. Not a dream, just a necessity and really our true destiny.

Billy Preston has always been an important figure in music for me, and I asked the very fine vocalist Martin Jones to join me with his soulful singing on this 70s classic.  Billy was always one of the funkiest keyboard players out there, and was often called the 5th Beatle.   Because of Billy's superb piano, synth and organ skills, he was a top session player and toured with many musicians including Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Little Richard and Sam Cooke.  Here's our tribute to the late great Billy Preston, who wrote hits such as Space Race, Will it Go Round in Circles, Outa Space, That's the Way God Planned it and co-wrote You are So Beautiful, which Joe Cocker then made famous. 1-20-13 we were testing out this "key" I thought it was too high, but Thom (piano and recording) said it was fine.  I can do it... or a bit lower is fine.  

English Translation of the Lyrics :

Be sure to use those forgotten ancient words combined with your beautiful vibrato gently calling out to the great rivers/mountains which reside forever in my heart.   

The unique fragrance from outside the Great Wall. Who says the sound of this song is too sad.  If you do not want to hear it, that is because you don't have a thrust for it.

While we must sing this song once, twice and over again.  Remembering miles of beautiful land under the golden sunshine;  Thinking of wind whistling over the desert; Wish for the Yellow River shore &  by the Yinshan Mountain. 

The hero's horses riding strong, they will ride home from a victory warfare.

I'm a singer-songwriter from Durban, South Africa. Having being raised in the church I was advantaged with a ready-made audience. Their kindness, patience and ecouragement gave me the confidence to improve my songwriting and to take it quite seriously. At times when the lyrics had a touch of controversy, they never thought it scandalous, which further encouraged me to write on social issues, love songs, and songs with just a story. 
By my mid-teens I was heavily influenced by the hippy gospel songwriter Larry Norman, which may explain why into my 50's I still have long hair! Through his music I learned that songs do have a greater purpose. 
As a young upstart I was blessed with a kind and forgiving congregation. Today I'm blessed with a very tolerant family and a bunch of great friends. I love what I do!
