I started loving music from day one. I would make mock music videos in the garage where my friend imitated Tom DeLonge and I was Mark Hoppus from Blink 182. Then, actually wanting to be involved in music, I started taking guitar lessons. After learning the basics and a plethora of covers, I realized that I couldn't stand playing other artists' music anymore. I felt more alive and satisfied when writing my own. I felt as though what I wanted music to sound like was just pouring out of me. Whatever was truly me was intensely secure in the writing and emotions of the melodies. From here, music became a platform to discover myself and the world outside of my own head. The lyrics and melodies are still the most important pieces of the writing process to me as they help creatively convey the world I look at. I love life, even when it hurts; and I have music and songwriting to thank for that.
