This year's Best of Bootie Mashup feels a bit more special than previous years, mostly because when I look at the producers here, I realize that not only have these people done superlative mashup work in 2021, but most of them are also active participants in our global-yet-still-small mashup scene. 

They aren't just producing tracks in a bubble, trying to get hits with the YouTube or TikTok algorithm. They are collaborating and sharing their love of mashup culture, not with just the world, but with each other, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it be in the ChatPod of our Twitch channel, in the Crumplbangers Discord, or on other social media channels, I haven't felt this sense of kinship with my fellow mashup creators since the early ’00s days of the GYBO message board.

So it's with great excitement that we present this year's collection of mashups of some of the biggest hits of 2021, curated by myself, Jupiter Gatling, and DJ Tyme, with input from some of the other DJs on the Bootie Mashup team, as well from the BootieMashup Twitch ChatPod – in particular, the "mashup roundtable" who participate in my Mashup Listening Party livestream every Wednesday.
