We are THE SIRENS, an all-Latina punk/rock band proudly hailing from East LA/Highland Park, CA! We are currently playing shows in the Los Angeles area while jumping in and out of the studio recording our new music (some of which you can get a sneak-peak of on our website)-- but nothing beats the energy and impact of playing live! We've toured with VANS Warped Tour and played numerous venues and festivals, have been featured on a number of radio stations, in magazines as well as online publications, on MTV and NBC with a guest appearance performing on the show "Knight Rider" haha! We embrace the DIY mentality, the underground sub-cultures as well as mainstream, and our minds and imaginations thrive in the social forward thinking of music, art and actions. We are honored to be recognized by Vexing Magazine as being part of the look and sound that is "deeply woven into Southern California's cultural fabric... the younger generation of female punk rockers, who carry the torch lit by fearless women 30 years ago... mythic, bad-ass Chicanas...who challenged notions of race and gender, as such constructs were deemed largely irrelevant when they took center stage. [And for having a] provocative position as cultural contributors to the canons of modern music, post-modern art, feminism and the Chicano movement."
