This collaboration with Jeffrey Smith (@33per) got wind under its wings about six weeks ago. War had just broken out, and his gossamer track felt like an antidote—sparkling, gentle, and full of ease and wonder. My improvised vocals dive into that little world and explore what might be. Here's to a better world and all the little things.

It's a song about life and love as most Country based songs are but this song has a great drive and passion in it. Doug wrote this song many moons ago along with a whole Aladdin's cave of pearls and gems, he is a first class song writer. i would strongly recommend for you to visit his SoundCloud site to hear some more really amazing songs. 

I was very honored when Doug asked my if i would like to write a backing track and produce this song  for him and i have to say its one of those songs that i just love to listen to.

On Approaching an Oasis during a Storm

This piece explores my emotional response to climate change, something which is very much part of the historical moment of the world into which I was born.
The music is dissonant, the harmonies all being derived from the chord of the augmented eleventh familiar to many as a jazz chord also used in blues. The modification of an idea at the end of a fast rising octaphonic scale, inverting its first appearance (descending), is intended to convey the important message of spirited hope coming from practical activists such as Greta Tunberg who work to alter the balance of power between institutional inertia and ecological necessity.

I am dedicating this piece to her and to all fellow climate change activists both old and young.
