Back in 2003 I was in a covers band called Airplay and we went in the studio off the advice of our agent to record 3 live cover tracks for promo.
This was so we had a product to use as a reference for bookings.

The James song "Sit Down" had a number of chart positions. Its original version reached number 77 on the UK Singles Chart in 1989. A re-recorded version released in 1991 reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. The song also had a peak position of 53 in 2017.
The song "Sit Down" by James, written by Tim Booth, expresses a sense of shared vulnerability and offers a comforting message of support and connection. It's often interpreted as an anthem for those struggling with mental health, specifically dealing with loneliness, sadness, and the feeling of being "touched by madness." 
It was always a favourite of mine in the covers band as it’s now become an anthem on indie playlists. The track as been streamed over 109 million times on Spotify. 
The last time I personally performed it was in Spain back in 2019 and enjoyed every minute. 
I must admit we did rock it up from the original !

This song began with Didier coming up with it on his acoustic guitar. However, when he first sent it to Josh, he had played electric guitar, bass, keys, and drums on it, because he is a very talented multi-intrumentalist. This song passes the stool test, though, which is the question of whether it sounds good with someone just sitting on a stool with a guitar, playing and singing it. So, when we asked him to give us a version that we could add to, it was already a great song that he sent us with just him singing over his acoustic guitar. 
  Tez was the first one up on this one, adding the fiery fills throughout, as well as the co-solo at the end. Ken entered the fray next, adding his rock solid, dynamic drums. Once the drums were down giving him something to play against, Josh added his fretless bass to the song. Being very excited about this one, he also added piano, organ, and eventually the lead guitar solo at the end. He also went in and added all the vocal harmonies throughout. Stephen then brought up the rear with some really cool textural guitar throughout. 
  Once we had it in the bag, we asked Tez to produce and mix it for us, which he did in his usual expert fashion. 
  This is our first song with Didier, but we hope it's just the beginning of his new inclusion into the Eclectic Collective family. He has a lot of great music on his page, which is worth checking out, too. We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

7am on a spring morning at Blessington Lakes in County Wicklow and all was still, suddenly i heard the most amazing sound that broke the silence, 2 amazing white swans flew out of the mist with such gracefulness and power it took my breath away, i wrote this song to try and capture the beauty and style of these amazing birds.
this is my fist ever instrumental . I hope you like it.
