Dakota, is an exploration of honesty combined with ambient sounds in hopes to recreate feelings of passion, love and heartbreak. Growing up in an era of music that emphasized ‘wearing your heart on your sleeve’ and ‘starving’ for the attention of a loved one, Dakota revisits this vulnerability to deliver songs built on raw truth. It is more about the music and the picture it creates for the listener than anything. Currently in the process of recording their first solo EP, with plans to release Fall '13, while working alongside good friends, Matt Wilbur (Woodale) and Aaron Marsh (Copeland) at The Vanguard Room. The past two years have been about gaining recording experience, developing musical abilities and character; to create music that lasts far after the song has been sung. Growing up influenced by faith and rural life, music started becoming as necessary as breathing.

Music for me can be an escape route; taking me away from the noisiness of the world. Music takes me deeper into my soul and is a firm center in my life. While vocal powerhouse and Kansas City native Olivia Jones has spent years performing on the stage, her musical journey has not been without struggle. Around the same time she performed her first solo (at age 5), Olivia began to undergo speech therapy for a chronic stuttering problem. She quit therapy after eighth grade, frustrated with the lack of results. Music, however, was a separate world to her – a world in which 
her impediment had no hold. Olivia's singing gave her confidence to overcome her weaknesses, and she hopes to serve as an inspiration to help others do the same.

Musically speaking, Olivia's pop stylings are influenced by artists like Carrie Underwood, Norah Jones, and Katharine McPhee. While her vocal delivery comes with a certain theatrical flair, her lyrics often reflect the daily struggles of ordinary people, mirroring her own battles in finding herself and overcoming the odds to succeed. In her time at the Contemporary Music Center, a music business study program in Nashville, Olivia has been branching out, experimenting with different genres and co-writing with her peers to explore her full potential as a performer.
