The above quote was kindly provided by Chris SSG for our sixth installment of our podcast series which features a set by him. A good friend of the collective, he needs no further introduction. This podcast is a recording of his set at the final of five parties we threw late last year to celebrate the 10 years anniversary of the Observatory. Chris’s set was the final one in a long series, closing what was a  wonderful sequence of events. Forward indeed.

Chris has been a predominant figure in the queer dance scenes in America and in Europe over many years having represented his mainstay party, now label, Spotlight from L.A., the Club Toilet Crew from Detroit and now residing in Berlin the last couple of years where he holds down regular slots at the city's major clubbing institution Berghain / Panorama Bar (most notably the party Snax which takes place there). Chris has dug deep  and worked hard with these residencies to showcase the queer roots of house, techno, disco, and other forms of dance music.

The art of omission is a craft New Jersey native Joey Anderson masters like few others. After releasing an acclaimed debut album in 2014, Anderson returns to the Dekmantel label serving up the signature sound we love him for. With the 1974 EP, he continues his modern day techno odyssey investigating the outskirts of the genre, while focusing on details and unexpected twists. Serving up dense melodic structures, intense chord progressions and unique but relentless drum programming and sounds, Anderson shows that the future of techno is bright, original and full of energy.
