Deanna, Kyle and Noah met as part of a local cover band. When Deanna left to focus on her own compositions, Kyle and Noah joined her. Johnnie had performed with Deanna previously and was a natural addition to the group. The group began working on a project that stemmed from a collection of songs that Deanna had written. When sitting down and studying the work, the group realized that each song was a reflection of a chapter or moment in Deanna’s life and could serve as a melodic autobiography. DKNJ worked on perfecting their performances until Deanna's health forced her to leave the project. Kyle and Noah took the best version of each song for their only album: The Chronicles of Deanna.
