iger Stripes returns to Drumcode with 'Nocturnes' for his annual EP outing, crafting a pair of blue-ribbon dance oor weapons inspired by the night.
The Swedish artist is a cherished act on the label, his involvement with DC going back to 2009. One of the most creative in his  eld, he typically mines in uence from across the musical spectrum. Indeed, a Tiger
Stripes track could employ subtle nods to everything from rock and pop, to reggae and hip hop, all seamlessly integrated into a dynamic techno palette.

Motordiscs announces only its second release of the year so far – as ever prioritising quality over quantity – with an exceptional EP from celebrated Mexican electronic duo Zombies In Miami. 

Zombies In Miami is a project created by Cani & Jenouise and despite the name they are not crawling around Miami, but shining out their light from Mexico. The couple became one of the most prominent members of Mexico‘s vital electronic scene over the last decade. You can call their sound a rhythmic and synth-driven house and techno hybrid, with a disco and balearic twist, which is held together by the oh so sweet Italo Drama.

With highly acclaimed EPs and tracks for such diverse labels as Gerd Janson's Running Back, Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, Prins Thomas's Internasjonal as well as Hippe Dance or Cin Cin, they released their debut album 2712 on Permanent Vacation in 2020 to critical acclaim. 

The City Of Love is a wonderfully crafted EP that straddles the boundary between electro, house and indie-dance, incorporating the myriad influences and styles that have made Zombies In Miami such a celebrated act. 

The title track is a huge, soaring, instantly invigorating cut, with a triumphant lead, chugging bassline, syncopated synths and Depeche Mode-esque vocal steadily building over the course of its nearly 9-minute running time. Aurora is more subdued but equally intoxicating, with warm bass notes and shimmering synths creating a deeply hypnotic vibe. 

On the remix, Germany’s Barnt transforms City Of Love into a glacial deep techno cut, with spectral synths and ethereal vocal textures leading the way. 

Motordiscs is a record label created by the people behind Parisian nightclub The Garage. The club was shut down during summer 2018 but its spirit has lived on through the label, which has seen releases from The Juan Maclean, Kasper Bjørke, Sascha Funke and more. 

On Thursday 07 July Motordiscs will host a release party at Rex Club Paris, featuring sets from Barnt, Zombies In Miami (Live) and Daniel Weil.

Howdy. It seems a debutant graces our celestial saloon. Don’t fret, partner, we’re nothing if not accommodating. There’s certainly enough room in this town for the two of us. Come inside and have one on us. Rest that mind and unwind. Get away from the dusty rain on that crusty plain.

Let’s get started. Making for an unyielding hook, Rainbow Road sees a relentless acid line cast a board delay. Liberal with a lasso, a persistent, consistent bassline is joined by a snapping 4/4 kick, together wrangling wider spaces to concoct a galaxial groove.

Standing out from the get-go, Infinite Vape accompanies its predecessor like Doc and Mr. Eastwood. A clear calling card of Mr. S, tremulous tails of scintillating synths contort, taking turns filling the astral field beside the sumptuous snare of our protagonistic centreline.

Traverse the cosmic frontiers of the galaxy with Space Western - A vast wilderness where cosmic cereus grow, basking in ultraviolet. A consciously punchy rhythmic pocket rides shotgun to a rosily scattered 303 line, joined by elysian pads shining from above. Warmth aplenty.

An aural depiction of an intergalactic mustang with a head of steam, Hyperspeed pushes an unrelenting pace. An avenue to showcase deftness for the journey, our hero utilizes continuous sonic movement to escort a thumping middle to perpetuity. A square synth wanders, with cutoff and resonance manipulation central to its never-ending movement.

Easily distinguishable, Satellite Spritzes paints a high noon duel between phasing drums and broken pulse. A showdown of astronautic proportions, the two dance atop round sub frequencies, meeting manipulated synthetic elements as they cross paths in the focal crux.

From stellar to IN2STELLAR, the duo from the axial south transform Satellite Spritzes into a showdown stepper. Climax teasing a mastered art, las vaqueras deliver a gorgeous amalgamation of deceivingly few elements, crafting the reimagining into an astro stomper extraordinaire.

A low thrumming emanates forth from the edges of the portal before you, its hum as hypnotic as the form that hovers in the sky on the other side. Unbelievably, its form is that which has been recounted endlessly among conspiracists and pulp fiction tales alike - a circular starship with sides that flare gently outwards to form the shape of a saucer. On the horizon, you can make out a cluster of huddled figures seemingly caught in its wake, similarly enthralled as yourself by this perfect specimen of a classical alien craft. Will you venture forth and discover the truth behind these age-old tales and uncover the identities of those that have for so long walked AMONG US?

6FOOT6 & VERSCHALLT join the VISION SERPENT roster with their latest single AMONG US, featuring additional remixes by Roman Adam & label head David Phoenix. The pulsating rhythmic core of the title track opens the release with undeniable presence before its message is reinterpreted by David Phoenix, who pushes the title track’s character into electrified and overdriven tonalities. FLYING SAUCER then follows with the mysterious levity of its namesake craft, which is then transformed within Roman Adam’s remix into a retrofuturistic soundscape that appropriately soundtracks such a storied vessel.

Hamburg based producer Hatzler’s EP is crafted to keep the dancefloor moving, with two original tracks and two remixes. ‘SkyT’ unfolds with a rolling groove that ascends abruptly into a throbbing, trance-inducing piece peppered with cavernous synth pads. ‘KreaT’ lays down hard hitting thumps from the get-go, doling out an undulating synth with whirring atmospherics. It’s these whirs that end up combining harmoniously with the swirling synth hook, leading to a highly anticipated peak time release. For his ‘SkyT’ remix, Sian amps up the theatrics, giving the track a dramatic dimension by infusing it with spacious reverb. Where Sian went down a more theatrical avenue, Ruiz plays down the emotion. Victor Ruiz’ take on ‘SkyT’ is a more stripped down approach, minimizing the elements and keeping the focus on the rolling bassline
