Octet in F Major

Title : Soaring Dragon Leaping Tiger (龍騰虎躍)

There were two tribal communities, Eastern Dragon and Western Tiger competed through their unique traditional drums and percussions. The intensity of their competition through musical instruments, although no weapon was used and no loss of life, was as tensed as the real battle during the time of their ancestors.

Mother Mary, Pray For Me 聖母, 為我祈

This is a rescore of the Assassin's Creed Unity Game Trailer. The scene is set during 1789, the music starts off with a recorder solo, which signifies an eagle flying above Paris. The streets are full of rioting citizens and soldiers who are mercilessly shooting the protestors.

After the recorder solo, the assassins can be seen looking down from the buildings. The music starts to change its pace, describing the fearless citizens rushing towards the stronghold of one of the generals to capture him. The assassin's also sprung into action and the music provides an action-packed feel to the audience.

Riot (Assassin's Creed Unity Rescore)

A theme I composed based on the Alma animation short film produced by ex-Pixar animator Rodrigo Blaas. I created a theme to express the creepiness in the abandoned doll shop within the film. When composing for this piece, I was inspired by the Pokemon Red and Blue Lavander Town theme which has a very eerie feel in it.

The word "alma" in Spanish means "soul". The film is about a girl named Alma who wanders into a deserted town and store.

This beautiful piece is an arrangement of Mipha's theme for string quartet. I combined elements from both the original theme from Breath of the Wild, and Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity version.

Mipha's Theme for String Quartet

An arrangement of the Champion Revali's theme!

One of my favorite themes in Hyrule Warrior's Age of Calamity! Revali's theme does give a soaring in the sky feel to it, and I wanted to try arranging for different instruments which turned out really well!

Dawn of Winter is a piece for horn, euphonium, and piano; I was inspired by the sunrise when I am in London during the winter.

Jolene Khor is an award winning composer attracting recognition for her whimsical and aesthetics driven compositions, reminiscent of the style popularised by studio Ghibli in Japan. Indeed it is her love of video games, films and anime along with music that inspired her to study composition for screen leading to her receiving a Batchelor's Degree in 2021 from Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, and then fast tracking a Masters in Composition for Screen in 2022 at the world leading Royal College of Music in London.

 

Jolene brings together thorough classical music and jazz training, along with her passion for Japanese and Chinese aesthetics, to create a satisfying blend of east and west, of savant music and popular instruments. This passion served her well during her studies when she collaborated with young filmmakers and animators of the London Film School, Royal College of Arts and Central Saint Martins as well as at the Royal College of Music where she was trained in managing recording sessions. Jolene has also recorded her music at Air Edel and Abbey Road recording studios.

Jolene teaches Composition, Piano, Jazz and Music Theory in London and is actively composing for the video games The Gods Fabled Soil Frontier and Towers as well as a soundtrack for the tabletop games by Emberwind.
