Once upon a time, there was a little Joey who liked to spin in the middle of the living room, watching the ground go around like a turntable, while his mama spun Beatles and Jackson 5 records on Sunday mornings. This became his Melodic Church of Rhythm and Soul.

Fast forward to the present, where Joe Sly's music has been enjoyed from living rooms all over the world via NBC, ABC, CBS, the Oprah Winfrey Network, Netflix, and then some.

Live audiences in many wonderful time zones have also enjoyed this music as he toured with bands and held residencies in places like Koh Tao (Thailand), San Francisco, and his native land of cheese, Wisconsin. 

Today you can hear him, or the wide array of other artists who have recorded his songs, in whichever musical stream you happen to launch your canoe.

Hi, my name is Joe, and I'm a Music Specializer.

I could have said, "I'm a producer, songwriter, track guy, session player, international touring performer, bandleader, arranger, transcriber, teacher, accompanist, engineer, musical director, classically-trained bachelor of fine arts, etc... But wouldn't it be easier if I just said, "Music Specializer"?

Before moving to Nashville in 2015, I spent a good amount of good time in LA, immersed in the world of sync, which led to my songs being heard on living room couches all over the world via NBC, ABC, TLC, History, Bio, A&E, Esquire, the Oprah Winfrey Network, and Netflix.

Music has carried me to many wonderful time zones. Sometimes touring with bands. Sometimes holding musical residencies in places like Thailand, San Francisco, and my native land of cheese, Wisconsin.

Many artists have recorded and performed my songs. I like when that happens. You can play my songs if you wanna. I am grateful.

World travel - past musical residencies include Thailand, San Francisco, and Wisconsin. Shared audiences with a very large array of bands (Train, Maroon 5, Lady Antebellum, Avett Brothers, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, John Prine...) in venues such as Hard Rock Cafe-(Beijing), Summerfest-(Milwaukee), Lambeau Field-(Green Bay), WAMI Awards Show-(Milwaukee), Leach Amphitheater-(Oshkosh), and numerous festivals, clubs, and coffeeshops from coast to coast. Performed with the Blue Man Group and spent several years as Musical Director/Bandleader of the WAMI (Wisconsin's "Grammy") Awards show.

In the summer of 2007 Mikel Wright & The Wrongs broke onto the local Minneapolis music scene. Together Mikel and the Wrongs are continually creating a sound of their own. Mikel has the vocal depth of an old blues man with the heart of a twenty-two year old musician. His dynamic voice enforced by the talented band creates a unique funk-filled reggae rock sound that is one of a kind. Rockford, IL-based Miles Nielsen has spent nearly a decade enthralling audiences with music that draws force from the prime years of Western-influenced rock music and classic ‘60s soul. Claiming influences as diverse as Otis Redding’s classic soul and Jellyfish’s cult power pop recordings, Nielsen has thus far released two albums – his debut in 2009 as a solo artist, and then his sophomore album in 2012 as Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts – to critical acclaim and an ever-growing fanbase. The Rusted Hearts’ hot streak will continue this year with their upcoming third LP, Heavy Metal.
