LA LIFE  (Lyrics)

I wanted to try new things. I started writing a pure electronic song but ended up with this 😉.
I don't know if my inspiration is back, but it's my fastest job 😋. I am usually very slow 🐌.

This song may not be my best but I like it. I wanted to make something lighter with some optimism but also a little melancholy.
I spent part of my childhood in the countryside. Each new day was the occasion for a new adventure.

Andrew Huangs learnmonthly Song #2. This thing pushed me to a place where i never thought i might end up. Recording dozens of samples, slicing, eqing, manipulating stuff in various directions, going full crazy with delay reverb, building out of the scratch a synth patch for base and chords and tweaked up to a point where the stereo field does not longer exist , where there were just sonic waves everywhere in my head......

I really hope you enjoy this piece more than the moments where i felt so dead and exhausted and empty inside.

As this being some kind of private work - i called it homework, as i took this baby from home, where i recorded the samples, on my fiances laptop in to my holidays. built like crazy while we were on vacation...... but again... i learned so much like mastering my daw more and more and tons of other stuff. im still thankful that i push myself so hard this month. for me, for you, just for the love of and for music <3

-recorded about 160 samples with my zoom h2n
-took me *10 hours to slice, eq and categorize
-mostly recorded kitchen stuff, about 80-90% 
-wasted 3 nights going too big with too many rythm variations , cried,                           dumped the old sh#t and started over (funny how pressured creativity works..)
-aged drastically during this #2 project
-big cred and thanks to the love of my life for supporting as well as serving gallons of tea to ease my exhausted mind and body

I used some irons with unusual micing technique.
It's over dub.
I made one track and inspired from that track and next track was same.

Creative Mind

I was so thrilled when Janine offered to join me on a jazz standard. Her lovely, warm, sincere vocals open a whole range of songs that my caustic, detached, cynical vocals just would not do justice to. This one came to my mind right away.
I tried to give her a bit of that Nelson Riddle treatment with just enough oddness to make it mine too. Such a pleasure to work with Janine. Her personal qualities are much the same as her vocal ones. Thank you Janine!

"Someone to Watch Over Me" is a 1926 song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin, assisted by Howard Dietz who penned the title. It was written for the musical Oh, Kay! (1926), with the part originally sung on Broadway by English actress Gertrude Lawrence while holding a rag doll in a sentimental solo scene. The successful musical ran for more than 200 performances in New York and then saw equivalent acclaim in London in 1927; all with the song as its centerpiece. Lawrence released the song as a medium-tempo single which rose to number 2 on the charts in 1927
