Thank you to every New Yorker for your extraordinary efforts, especially medical workers, Governor Andrew Cuomo and all of the people doing essential services so that we can #stayhome. 

*40,000 retired medical workers have volunteered to help staff NYC’s new Surge Healthcare Force
*6,000 mental health professionals have volunteered to help counsel those struggling in our community
*NYC shelters are running out of dogs & cats to foster. They all have homes now.
*New York’s shuttered hotels are offering housing for our medical workers 
*NYC volunteers are coordinating grassroots efforts to shop for and feed our sick and elderly 
*Relief funds for freelancers, undocumented workers, artists, etc are being created
*New Yorkers are FINALLY staying home
*Dude still has his sign. 
*Nana is safe. 

This is the New York I know. This is the New York I love.

What a surreal existence we are all sharing at the moment.  Time is standing still now it seems.  The wait for an answer. The wait for the light at the end of tunnel, wherever we may be.   

I often think of my life pre corona virus and I feel it took, place ages ago.  In some other distant time when almost everything was a given.   Not now though.   

Only thing that is a given now is the power of love. 

The power of compassion. 
The power of empathy.  
The power of inwardness. 

The power of realizing that nothing is ever to be taken for granted.  

The power of gratitude.    

We are in a part of the world that allows us to suspend our reality here and there.  I plunge in the ocean as if the water is oxygen. Every drop on my body reminds me to breath the air.  To be present and to remember that the water I feel is the same water someone else feels on the other side of the seemingly infinite horizon.  
But it’s not infinite.  Nothing is.  
Only love.  
Love is infinite.  
Love is everything. 

And so is music.  

 It is what has brought me all thats is pure in my life.   
That is true.  
This is why you’re listening now. 
This is why it’s never more important to feel, to taste, to hear  and see music.  It’s why I’ve called you to us.  It’s why my brothers are with me today. 

Please close your eyes now. 
Let’s suspend our reality and allow immense optimism reign.
