Woodwork welcomes the legendary Jay Tripwire to the roster. A highly prolific producer with a solid signature sound and impeccable work ethic. For this EP, Jay turns out a wide range of interpretive productions based on the concept of the global effects of steadily occurring polar shifts.

'Magnetosphere' rattles and shakes free a calming groovy bassline embraced by a hypnotic ambient chord drone. Chanting vocals and ritual drumming lead into a brief break where the elements are momentarily disoriented.

'Pole Reversal' is a subversive electro track that unfolds in much the same vein. Humanized beat box percussion introduces a steady rolling bass flow.

While a sweeping synth pad creates a soothing canopy over top. The occasional vocal hit chimes in with an abstract personal gesture.
'12000 Year Shift' has that classic sound that Jay Tripwire is known for. Smooth, deep, unwavering swells and stabs that circulate and layer in kaleidoscopic fashion. Classy, psychedelic, and soulful.

'Ritual Vibration of Ancient Stories' encapsulates the concept of the EP. It observes a cultural clash as disparate societies simultaneously experience world changing global events. The track follows a cinematic narrative but also remains highly playable as an abstract layer for the right kind of unusual moment.

'Solar Blast' again finds Jay Tripwire showcasing his taste and prowess for all things electro, breakbeat and sci fi. Minimal breaks and subconscious synth work are driven by a repetitive modulated bass line.
Bringing things full circle is 'Rotational Slowdown'. Sparse and minimal with a well worn bass pattern, trippy voices, deep pad drone, and a solid arrangement tailored for a late night deep set.

In the scope of the 6 tracks of this EP, Jay Tripwire is clearly practicing his own sonic Voodoo...some kind of ritual deep sorcery aligning his music to the shifting of Earth's magnetic poles through a transcendental state.

London-based artist and industry mainstay Jeigo makes his debut on PETS Recordings with his deep four tracker We Are Nothing. Being as versatile as the artist's taste those four takes express and portray what Jeigo has put his mindset in over the past years, when working for Phonica, Rye Wax or Juno Records. The A2 of the EP, Beyond, offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at a musical level and basically does what the track title suggests at a deep and intimate level. With a slightly dubbish note and softly coming in vocals the track coopts its listeners as quickly as the bass shuffles its way to them and is covered by atmpospheric pads setting the basis for melancholic yet deep piece of music whose vocals burn into one's mind and never let go.

AEON is nearing its 50th release. But before we reach that milestone, we would like to share a fine record by the label boss himself, Alex Niggemann. The inspiration behind this release was found in experimenting with a vocoder. Alex explains: “society might have us all as robots if we don’t take care to be open minded - both musically and in general. That was the inspiration for the record and it was great fun to make”. A view that fits the current zeitgeist perfectly.

The ‘Technology’ vibe is inspired by late 80ies breakbeat. Once the beat is in full range with the sparkling & upclimbing synths, pictures of vintage B-boys & girls, making their acrobatic dance moves, are projected in our minds. A slight twist brings the classic Juno 6 lead synth, characterizing the main part.

Free Sequence is a brand-new electronica label based in Budapest,  founded and curated by Balázs Zságer of Žagar. Free Sequence is also a live act series that honors improvisation, spontaneity, and the exciting new possibilities that arise in the process.

Chez de Milo, readies his debut release, and
Futureboogie’s first release of 2021, with the ‘Bushwa’ EP.
Smagghe & Cross (AKA Ivan Smagghe and Rupert
Cross) join the party with an epic Version of the title track.

On ‘Bushwa’, warming CR-78 drums initiate a bubbling
blend of groaning pads, melodic keys and gated vocals as
Chez de Milo crafts a solemn yet addictive 5am moment.
Smagghe & Cross stretch things out over ten minutes with
their tantalising Version of ‘Bushwa’ that quite literally
features a commercial break midway before motoring back
up to chugging speed. Cosmically charged this most
definitely is!

Elsewhere on this prolific debut release, ‘Mantella’ features
a smorgasbord of spacey riffs, splashy drums and
idiosyncratic vocals, whilst ‘Golden Ratio’ wraps things up
with an esoteric piece of bleepy, ambient house that is
designed to feed your mind as much as for your feet.

Having previously released on Einmusika and made remixes for Booka Shade, veteran producer Pysh channels an afro / melodic aesthetic in his 'Foreign Land' release for DeVante’s Kognitiv Records, featuring four cuts courtesy of the artist, a collaboration and a guest remixer.

The original 'Foreign Land' track borders on tribal, with an organic bassline and dreamy synths, developing into an immersive oscillation of whirlwind synth pads held together by a mysterious, dark vocal. As the title suggests, the "groove remix” offers an alternative where the emphasis is on the groove and melody, while Milanese producer Hunter/Game’s remix offers a more dubby, progressive, heads-down variant. The second track, Mata Kuty, a collaboration with fellow Polish producer Sincz brings a complementing arrangement, in the shape of a restrained track that balances mystery with its groovy appeal.
