Turning frustration into a heavy waltz. "Wrench in the works" is an alternative metal song about psychological abuse. When you feel stuck, mistreated and just can't escape your situation it's like someone threw a wrench in the works causing the machine to stop and being unable to move. Ironically, this hypnotic 6/8 beat makes you want to move. 

"Wrench in the works" is the kind of song I could have never written intentionally. The heavy 6/8 drum groove combined with a minimalistic chord progression and a catchy riff in a weird scale just happened. Topic and words came just in an instant. I am happy that Chad replaced my clean and whispery vocal sketch with heavy screams of frustration. He wrote a guitar solo and got super wild on every instrument. Hell yes, THIS is the sound of frustration with a glimpse if hope in between. We had tons of fun and I just can't thank you enough for the super cool interpretation of one of the heaviest songs I wrote.
