Sleeping On Lotus Ashes is an experimental audio laboratory amalgamating all sort of unorthodox synthesis & resynthesis techniques to explore the sonic possibilities of sound morphing, manipulated field recordings, sound collages and aggregates of deep transformed sounds.

Aaron Mencher writes “sophisticated and compelling” (Boston New Music Initiative) contemporary classical music, film scores, and incidental music. He recently worked with Alarm Will Sound during the 2019 Mizzou International Composers Festival when they premiered his piece Haworthia. Additionally, Aaron has received recognition from organizations such as ASCAP, The American Modern Ensemble, The Boston New Music Initiative, NAfME, the European-American Musical Alliance, the American Prize, and the Third Millennium Ensemble.
Aaron is currently studying with Oscar Bettison at the Peabody Conservatory. His past teachers include Carolina Heredia, Yoshiaki Onishi, and Stefan Freund.
