The Language Of Love

I am a frozen statue, watching seasons come and go, feeling changes, doing nothing, forever...
Last movement of the rock symphony, where I pay tribute to, and play, my mom's spanish guitar.
Main theme (bass E1-A1...E1-A1-E2...), appears all along the album, and also main themes of other 3 movements sound here as refrains (Vienen y van / Hora tras hora) which are thus sung over 4 different musics ;) E-Ruizzo project is finished, what's to come?... below translated lyrics.

When we started this collaboration, like everyone on this planet, we were hit by the pandemic and the effects on our lives.  Earth stopped for a moment and we could feel her heartbeat ...and with it the will to overcome anything!

I had been really wanting to make new music with Calebass. I have been making a lot of songs that lean more heavily toward hip hop the last couple years and felt like heading back toward the direction of my earlier years on SoundCloud. Luckily Calebass was willing and ready and the music flowed easily and steadily. Jon did an amazing job adding an element of jazz with his bass and Janine really awakened the psychedelic spirit and Age of Aquarius with her vocals. It was extra bonus to have both Sinfields participate in this song making this a real SC family affair. Lyrically, I was inspired by the children’s book, Ox-Cart Man, which I love, and all the felt mouse toys I recently made for my cat at my daughter’s request. 

Thanks for all your years of listening everyone!

I wrote this in my 20s in the Apartheid era as a tribute to the many people we lost.

During this time our home and our church were invaded by the Special Branch while we were holding meetings. Our phone was tapped, and at work I received a scare call from the Wit Wolf that a bomb was placed in our legal offices. And yet my anti-apartheid involvement was very light-touch and perfectly legal! Heady days indeed.

I am so happy to share some of my own crazy with you through these songs and this album. All my heart is in these tunes, and a lot of sweat as well. I truly hope you will enjoy the mix of dark electronic music and uplifting vibes. With this music I continue to explore dark realms (musically and personally) while holding space for positivity and invigorating energy. “My Own Crazy” is a trip down the road to my inner self, while reflecting upon how to stand my ground as a compassionate and emotional individual in our confusing world of material and superficial success. An Apsara is a female spirit of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. An Apsara, is also known as Vidhya Dhari or Tep Apsar in Khmer, Accharā or A Bố Sa La Tư, Bidadari, Biraddali, Hapsari or Widodari and Apson. English translations of the word "Apsara" include "nymph," "celestial nymph," and "celestial maiden." Apsaras are beautiful, supernatural female beings. They are youthful and elegant, and superb in the art of dancing. They are often the wives of the Gandharvas, the court musicians of Indra. They dance to the music made by the Gandharvas, usually in the palaces of the gods, entertain and sometimes seduce gods and men. As ethereal beings who inhabit the skies, and are often depicted taking flight, or at service of a god, they may be compared to angels. Apsaras are said to be able to change their shape at will, and rule over the fortunes of gaming and gambling. Urvasi, Menaka, Rambha and Tilottama are the most famous among them.

I always loved this track - and in a world that seems increasingly like a disaster movie with the combination of Covid-19, Trump and the George Floyd protests, the track resonated even more. 

I changed the lyrics in the last verse from "Hand out the arms and ammo, we're going to blast our way through here" to "Lock up your arms and ammo, we're gonna march our way through here". There's enough violence and chaos in the world. Democracy moves when we are able to be heard. Stay safe out there.
