Music nerds like Real Gone Kid are a strange breed. Whether it's the internet, dusty music stores or even their girlfriend's parents music collections, they're always searching. Never content with their own vast stockpile, much of which they rarely play, the music nerd is as much at home in a noisy nightclub as they are in quiet contemplation with headphones on, staring at the mid-week rain through their bedroom windows. 

Like many of his age, dance music’s arrival was the wake-up call he needed; Thatcher’s Britain was a desperate place and rave music provided a release. Over time his love for all forms of music began to take shape, and he decided to learn to DJ and make his own tracks. With some success, he DJed all over the country; recently going international. His tracks are now also finding themselves in the boxes of some of the major players in the underground scene.

Robert Van Ryn spent over a decade touring extensively across the length and breadth of the UK and Europe including summers spent on the sun-drenched isles of Corfu, Cyprus, Crete, and Ibiza, most notably as one of the four resident tour DJ's for the award winning Euphoria album series. The album tour itself saw in excess of 500 tour dates over a four-year period.

Alongside working solo Robert was a member of Protrapik which saw him play gigs across the UK including multiple performances at Ministry of Sound, Slinky, a number of international bookings, and hold a worldwide radio syndication with their show Electronic Airwaves.

More recent years have seen Robert hold ongoing multiple residencies with Bristol based house and techno brands such as Banjax, WERK, and 4to theFloor, among others, all whilst being involved in events across the city and beyond including both club and festival gigs whilst working alongside many global household names within the industry. He holds on going weekly and monthly residencies with Banjax, 4to theFloor, alongside some exciting projects with HOME Events and his very own brand and club night Mustard Shop. 

This unassuming larger than life character displays such an infectious passion for music you could be forgiven for thinking he does nothing but eat, live, sleep, and breathe music, and not one to be pigeon holed by genres, holds a healthy appetite for music across the board.

 started playing soul in reggae sound system, called countryman and went on to local nightclub where I was approached to mix some reggae and soul and hip-hop to old school rave tunes that eventually kicked of underground parties in the south west, we used to carry our on equipment up mountains, hills, across streams, peoples squats you names it we played at it. After awhile we were doing little parties around Bath, Bristol Wales etc, Called Brainstorm,bedlam,exedus and spiral tribe at the same time we promoted events in clubs in bath Bristol cheltnam, etc in about 92 is when the 1st universe, fantasia, perciption,onenation raves started to fell the gap what was left from the decreasing illegal parties I was having to travel across the other side of the country after gigs to play at free raves and we were very militant at the time we had a crew of atlest 10 cars, from every city and big town in southwest and the welsh crew were the biggest, there was always a convoy of 50 to 100 vehicles waiting outside my house or clubs. Played at all the big raves till it the scene started to break up and that gave advent to jungle in its raw form I always wanted an all night jungle rave so when it happened I was in right place at right time and played London regular which I had about 7-9 resisedent per week at it heyday. I was one of the first Djs to play at legal late night clubs in swansea Coventry, Bristol, Yate, Plymouth, london, manchester, and many more started making tunes with a Dj known as orca, Darren,(kohshen) that’s when d/b started to grip the nation I wasn’t on circuit so much any more and was pleased to be playing regularly again, wid the likes of all the main stage players, i.e. Krust, Nicky bm,fabio,etc and started doing a few promotions and playing abroad more often when England became flooded out wid d/b nights. Was with jungle rock from 94-97 which was held Malcolm X Center St pauls Bristol. I’ve also played with all the full cycle crew and forth coming on Rinseproof Records is a tune I did with Suv and Flash Feat Hannah entitled ‘Save Me. In 1998 I was one of the founder members of 'Drive By' a club night in Bristol which I was resident at until 2004 .then i took on ventures to europe and asia.playing at the full moon parties in thailand every few months,plus festival all around europe all my years the only time i ave been side lined so i could not entertain for the party massive so long. after breaking my neck in three places,xmas 06(u think im in a bad way you should've seen the wall) taken till now to get back to full speed NOW WICKNESS THE RETURN OF RAMJACK thanks for the support of bigga junglest family,and all krew.

hi mate this is just a write up someone did for me few mths back. i am a co-owner of headrush.webclubbing.net i have 3 shows a week where i play jungle/liquid/dnb i have a main show on sunday nights from 8-10 called drum & grace where i dedicate a section to preview selected producers. 
i also play on unite-underground.com every saturday from 6-8 and on wednesday from 4-6 on globaldnb.com. 
im also resident at clubs in bristol and yeovil aswell as playing in europe monthly at differant venues,i am resident dj at the fullmoon party when i am in thialand.
