I'm playing this classic English country dance tune for a production of Alice in Wonderland at Mill Valley Middle School, where my wife teaches. I thought it would be fun to record a quick version of the song and then I started playing around with different sound effects in Garageband... I kind of stumbled upon this pseudo-synthy vibe and thought, well, that's kind of fun. Nothing like what we are using in the show, though! This recording sounds like something you'd hear when you're on hold... maybe it would make a good ring tone? Anyway, I thought it was fun... Enjoy! :-)

A 15 minute piece bases in sections where roughly 46 bars equals a decade of a normal human life of 78 years. The chord structures are based on what I perceive is the general mood of that decade - melancholia to happy - and the BPM is roughly dictated by the target heart rate at the given age. It's a demo - the strings sounds are a little plastic due to the lack of decent attack settings in the logic samples...

This is very rough. If you are expecting a polished song, look elsewhere. I was playing around with the iPad and trying to see if I could hit the high note in this one. ;) I'd like to do this with an actual band at some point.
