Heaven On Earth

An arrangement I made for my Cubase class. The assignment was to transcribe an already-composed song, and I decided to do one of the more complex five-minute songs I know. Arranging each individual instrument was quite an ordeal, but it was a lot of fun since I really like the song.

The original song is from one of my favorite anime, Gurren Lagann. " "Libera Me" From Hell " by Taku Iwasaki, a strangely brilliant fusion of opera and hip-hop. 

Because I spent so much time writing in each instrument, I ended up having almost no time to mix the song, and the end result sounds really unbalanced. The wimpy overheads at the end were also a result of my time constraints, as I had no better speedy alternative to replace the chanting in the original song. Kinda wish I had more time to choose better instruments overall.
None the less, I had fun learning and rearranging the song.

All done in Cubase 7.
